The distinction of merit is the merit that transcends people. "Patience" is because one desires to do it oneself. The difference of joy of a hundred gifts is said: From then on, the lord of the gods, Indra, etc. "Ability" means power. What is said after understanding the intention is "Make your effort smaller," etc. "Effort" means starting.

The term "va" is used so that non-Buddhists and demons, etc., do not approach that direction. The term "joining palms" means that because of joining palms, it is joining palms. The self-narration and speech for the purpose of initiating a question about the coming and going of the Tathagatas is: "Son of good family, here I am," and so on. The term "son of good family" is not used to address someone who abides in the precepts of a noble Dharma-excelled monk; otherwise, the term "venerable one" would be used. The term "having become special" means having obtained. The term "immediately upon seeing" means from the cause of seeing, simultaneously with seeing. The chapter that always indicates the nearness of time is the chapter of always-time, which is the thirtieth chapter. To negate the grasping of the form body as the Tathagata, it is said: "Son of good family," and so on. If the form body that has coming and going is not the Tathagata, then what is the Tathagata? For this necessity, the ultimate Tathagata, which is the nature of suchness, the essence of the Dharmakaya, is spoken of: "Not moving from suchness, whatever is suchness, that is the Tathagata." This shows the characteristic of permanence, the Dharmakaya, which is encompassed by the complete purity of suchness. Moreover, the nature of other-powered that has a completely purified aspect, which is to be attained by complete transformation, to dispel doubts about birth, this nature of no-birth is spoken of: "Whatever is unborn, that is the Tathagata." To the nature that relies on mirror-like equality, individual discernment, and the wisdom of accomplishing activities, it is said: "Whatever is the true limit, that is the Tathagata." To the nature of non-duality for the sake of the complete transformation of the aggregate of consciousness, which is the nature of understanding meaning as it is, it is said: "Whatever is emptiness, that is the Tathagata." It is not the nature of acting with a nature that is without imputation and other-power, and the selflessness of the nature of emptiness that exists ultimately.

It is not self-nature. What is spoken of by taking the self-nature that is to be known by each individually as an opportunity is: Whatever is suchness, that is the Tathagata. Understanding suchness is, in this case, suchness itself. What is spoken of by taking the nature of all defilements as an opportunity is: Whatever is free from desire, that is the Tathagata. What is shown by the nature of not being accumulated by karma and spoken of is: Whatever is cessation, that is the Tathagata. The purification of what is accumulated by karma is cessation here. What is spoken of by taking the nature of space as an opportunity, due to its pervasive nature and the difficulty of understanding it, is: Whatever is the realm of space, that is the Tathagata. So, the body adorned with the thirty-two major marks of a great person and the eighty minor marks is the Tathagata, and again, the statement that the nature of suchness, etc., is not (the Tathagata) is: Son of lineage, there is no other Tathagata apart from those dharmas, which means that the extremely pure suchness is the intention of the Tathagata. Because that is the meaning of the ultimate body of those. Thus, what is spoken of by stating that suchness, etc., and the Tathagatas are not different, in order to show that they are extremely not different, is: Son of lineage, what is the suchness of these dharmas, etc. Of these dharmas, refers to suchness, etc. What is suchness, refers to emptiness by the nature of imputation, because by the nature of imputation, suchness is also not the ultimate truth. What is the suchness of all dharmas, refers to the aggregates and elements, etc. What is the suchness of the Tathagata, these are the same suchness, etc., which are briefly shown by these. The reason is stated as, because there is not, which means because there is no substance. It is not because there is no general characteristic of ultimate existence. Now, in what way is it implied that form is not the Tathagata?
