Here, the aggregates should prohibit edible things. Thus, having abandoned the conceptualizations of inner and outer profundity and what is edible, for the body which is the nature of the aggregation of inner and outer aggregates, also abandon the view of self and what belongs to self. Therefore, if one thinks that this collection of inner and outer aggregates is also empty of the nature of self and what belongs to self, this is the emptiness of inner and outer. Again, one should think like this: if all phenomena are empty, how can the conduct of stability and movement, etc., arise dependently? Again, one should definitely think like this: the so-called dependent arising is that there is no phenomenon whatsoever. However, because of non-existence, as long as there is no direct realization of seeing phenomena as they are, then as long as it is complete with the nature of completely wishing for karma and afflictions, it proceeds with the nature of beginningless cause and effect. Those ripened results of karma and afflictions are also empty in all ways of all kinds. Thus, proceeding with the nature of cause and effect of emptiness in empty phenomena is called dependent arising. Just as a magician binds the sight of sentient beings with a magic spell and shows elephants, etc., to those whose eyes are bound, those magical elephants, etc., become the cause for generating the consciousness of their own appearance. Those consciousnesses also see the magical elephants, etc. The elephants, etc., and the consciousnesses proceed with the nature of cause and effect, which is called dependent arising. None of these three actually exist. Similarly, for children, because ignorance binds what is seen, phenomena of karma, crafts, and conceptualizations appear like magical elephants, etc. Those phenomena become the cause for generating the consciousness of their own appearance. Those consciousnesses see those phenomena. Thus, the external phenomena of conceptualization

Since it exists by way of cause and effect, that which truly exists does not arise. It is for this very reason that it is said that all phenomena are without inherent existence. If some of the unconditioned, co-emergent phenomena had inherent existence, then at that time they would arise by their own nature. There would be no need to rely on other causes and conditions for the sake of arising. Reliance is also untenable, therefore it will be realized that they do not have inherent existence. Therefore it is said: How can that which has inherent existence arise again? Because inherent existence is unconditioned, it does not depend on others. Like that. Because these do not have inherent existence, it is said that these are without inherent existence. Because it is without inherent existence, therefore it is emptiness. Therefore, the meaning of without inherent existence is the meaning of dependent arising, and the meaning of emptiness is the meaning of dependent arising, this is what is said. As it is said: Whatever is dependent arising, that very thing you call emptiness. Like that. When the view that is as it is arises, the mantra of ignorance that has entered will be completely pacified, then, those phenomena that are like elephants and so on, and the phenomena of consciousness that hold them, and dependent arising, will themselves perish. Therefore, the emptiness of the vessel world and so on that abides here is called great emptiness. Again, the Bodhisattva thinks in this way: Emptiness, as a form of dharma, is it existent or non-existent? Thinking, it will be like this: Just as some people see a city of gandharvas and the thought of a city arises, later they search but do not see it, the thought of the city disappears, and the thought of emptiness arises, there, from the arising of the thought of emptiness, it cannot be said that there is some other thing that is the emptiness of the city. Similarly, here too, from seeing the nature of imputed form and so on, to the dharma of...

After thought arises, completely seek it as it is, and seeing with wisdom as it is, the thought of Dharma declines, and the thought of emptiness arises. Thus, it is not possible to say that emptiness is another Dharma. As it is said: Because all conceptual constructs are abandoned, the nectar of emptiness is taught. Whoever grasps onto that, your food is small. Thus, emptiness is not to be said as non-existent, because all phenomena are empty, therefore it is not to be said that emptiness exists. If it is said that emptiness that has become practiced is not another Dharma, this is emptiness emptiness. Emptiness, here in this sutra, by whatever knowledge one knows that form and so on are empty, that is, by the internal self-nature, the emptiness of that which is gathered by the aggregate of consciousness is spoken of, therefore it is taught by that itself. Here, this meaning should be understood. Emptiness also has three aspects: the completely imputed, the dependent nature, and the thoroughly established. Among these, the completely imputed is like a rabbit's horn, which is not connected in all times and places. It is not the nature of what is grasped, nor is it the consciousness of what grasps. The thoroughly established is the wisdom that abides with equality as the object of equality, and with the nature of the object and the subject, and in all ways is the realm of activity of the Buddhas themselves. This is the aspect of the sixteen emptinesses, the realm of activity of the wisdom with which Bodhisattvas are completely familiar. For the wisdom that manifests, the nature of all phenomena being unobservable is only one emptiness, not one, two, three, and so on. In order to increase the meditation on the unobservability of all phenomena, Bodhisattvas, with higher vision, increase the aspects of emptiness, and separately understand with the wisdom that does not remain in equipoise. It is not manifested by the conceptualization of the condition called calm abiding. Furthermore, if one asks, what does calm abiding not produce? The answer is: Compassion, the wheel of...
