Some small fruits are completely attached to afflictions, and some are completely purified, that is what it is called. What will be said then? For the bodies of travelers, time, and unions, due to the lack of perfection and the influence of obstacles such as dullness, merely seeing objects such as knowledge will arise. How can this be without fruit or with small fruit? Such as "Venerable Subhuti, when..." The meaning is this: All dharmas are empty of inherent existence. From this word, for the object of karma, the object of thought, completely empty from no inherent existence. Then, how can it be established as having an object or not having an object? Therefore, emptiness is no inherent existence. Subhuti said, "By making a sign..." etc. The meaning is this: Here, seeing the great Bodhisattva who sees no object, it is not a change from the occasion. To practice with an object is an excellent occasion here. Therefore, by the power of that and non-discrimination, it is definitely shown to have an object and not to have an object. A sign also refers to the object. Among them, whatever is not fully understood is because of affliction; whatever is fully understood is for the sake of purification. In this way, how can there be no complete distinction for ignorance, etc.? It is said only from that reality: "Conditioned by ignorance are actions," etc. For that, taking the absence of deluded wisdom as a measure, and making it an object, that is its meaning. It arises relying on worldly conventions. Convention means not relying on ultimate truth. Arising means arising from a pure mind that has an object. Furthermore, the Stable One, Shariputra, spoke of other previous aspects, such as "Venerable Subhuti, when..." etc. The meaning is this: For the time being, let alone the Sarpa Bodhisattva, if a Bodhisattva whose continuum is completely matured, if he gives alms in a dream...

Therefore, doing so, because his dreams and awakenings are the same, just as in awakening, in dreams, giving and so on, rejoicing and dedicating and so on will be done well. This is what is said (in the scripture). This is said by "Venerable Shariputra" and so on. In order to accept those who should be tamed by Maitreya (the Bodhisattva Maitreya) near that time, in order to understand his intention spoken together with himself, the noble Maitreya abandons the previous view. The so-called "manifestation by body" refers to the noble one who has entered cessation, who is said to manifest by body. Because there is no effort of mind, the body itself manifests that samadhi. Therefore, starting from the eighth ground, the Bodhisattva will enter the samadhi of no appearance, no sign, and no cause. Then, because there is no effort of mind, just because the body exists, he abides in that signless samadhi at all times, therefore the Bodhisattva is said to manifest by body. The so-called "will answer this question" refers to this previous view. The so-called "will answer" means will completely abandon. The so-called "Invincible One" is another name for Maitreya (the Bodhisattva Maitreya). This is said by "Venerable Subhuti, how is it" and so on. For those Bodhisattvas who see the unobservable and whose continuum is completely matured, in their dreams and awakenings, giving and so on, rejoicing and dedicating and so on are not truly existent in their own nature. Therefore, through non-existence itself, he will wisely take the previous view, thereby manifesting the emptiness of ultimate truth. For the absence of a person or dharma, will Maitreya (the Bodhisattva Maitreya) answer this question? What are you considering when you say this? Just grasping a contingent name, what are you saying? Or are you saying that form and so on or emptiness will answer? Through "will not answer in any case," the meaning of not answering should be understood. In order to symbolically express a close meaning obtained through confusion, what is said is emptiness.

That means, it is not possible to answer. What is meant by "what dharma can answer" is loving-kindness. What is meant by "what is answered" is the question. What is meant by "by whom is answered" is Shariputra. What is meant by "what" is language. What is meant by "have you directly experienced these dharmas in this way" is that if the venerable Shariputra said these things, if you had directly experienced these in this way, then in the case where it already exists, the one who experiences and the one who is experienced would become different objects of attachment. Therefore, the noble Maitreya separately said, "I have not." At the time of direct experience, these dharmas are not objects of attachment. They are not to be spoken of, so how can they be expressed in words as they are? This shows how those dharmas that are expressed in words are also related to the negation that is expressed immediately, and these dharmas are unknowable. If you have not realized the dharma in this way, then what is said is: What is meant by "however," etc., is that all dharmas are without self-nature because they are without essence. What is meant by "I have directly experienced it" refers to relying on the principal thing. What is meant by "because there is no essence" is because there is no wisdom, language, and attention. What is meant by "showing according to practice" is that without the special habit of unsurpassed wisdom, it is unreasonable to show the signless state that has become such. The dharma that is distinguished in detail as "Arhat," have you also truly seen it accordingly? What is meant by "Arhat itself" is that apart from the state of complete transformation, there is no other dharma, and this is acting with an attitude of arrogance, so it is said separately, "No." What is meant by "similarly" is that just as you do not observe the dharma of Arhat itself, the bodhisattva prophecies related to one life and separately, etc., and the dharmas related to them, are also unobservable. If all dharmas are unobservable, then for whose benefit
