What will be exhausted by accumulation and what is done in dreams? If it exists, then there should be a difference between dreams and wakefulness, that is the meaning. To elaborate on the notion of killing, it is expressed by "how" and so on. "Alala, killed" means that "Alala" is a word of exclamation. "Protecting so much" also expresses amazement, meaning "I killed." "Killed well" means "did well, killed what." "Thoroughly killed" means "thoroughly killed, did this thing, will not live no matter what." If someone asks who did it, the answer is "I killed." The venerable Shariputra said to the venerable Subhuti that because for a new bodhisattva who has not yet achieved, due to the cause of discrimination, he would presumptuously think that there is a difference between dreams and wakefulness, so he said, "Reverend Subhuti, if" and so on. The Buddha Bhagavan and so on said again in this way. If due to the cause of discrimination, for a new bodhisattva, there is a difference between dreams and wakefulness, if that is the case, then there are also bodhisattvas who have fully achieved. For the Buddha Bhagavan, there will also be a difference between dreams and wakefulness due to the cause of discrimination. The notion of exhaustion refers to the knowledge of exhaustion, which means "my faults are exhausted." "That's" refers to karma. Like a new bodhisattva, due to the discrimination of the daytime, approaching accumulation and what is done in dreams will be exhausted, this is a presumptuous thought. "That is not" means that the Bhagavan who sees that all dharmas are unattainable, transcends the world, and abides in non-discriminating wisdom. So, how do you, like a new bodhisattva, think that there is a difference between dreams and wakefulness due to the cause of discrimination? Similarly, for a fully accomplished bodhisattva, it is also seeing that all dharmas are unattainable, the nature of non-discrimination. Because of this, it is said that there is no difference between dreams and wakefulness. So, how can this be established?

In order to abide in non-discriminating wisdom, there is no difference between dreams and wakefulness, because one engages in discrimination. To eliminate this difference, explanations are made and it is said, 'Thus,' and so on. 'Thus' refers to the order of the teachings. In some texts, 'Elder Subhuti, if the Blessed One, the Tathagata,' and so on, are not recited in this way. It should be recited as, 'Its karma,' and so on, 'or exhaustion.' Immediately after that, Subhuti's own words are, 'Elder Shariputra, thus,' and so on. That is self-explanatory. 'From no object, no arising; without an object, the mind does not arise.' The terms 'mind,' 'mental activity,' 'intellect,' and 'discrimination' have the same meaning. The meaning is this: killing in a dream is without self-nature. Therefore, seeing that all phenomena are unborn and invisible, even ordinary individuals know through transcendental wisdom that dreams are without self-nature. Therefore, that invisible thought becomes an objectless object. Therefore, there is no additional ripening there. Killing during the day is not made non-substantial by the actor of each ordinary person. Therefore, that and the mind of the object of focus is the object of reality itself, according to the intention of the actor, therefore, it will produce additional fruit. If that is the case, what is done in a dream will become without an object, and what is done in a state of wakefulness will become with an object. Therefore, there will be a difference between dreams and wakefulness. If that is the case, the statement that all phenomena are like dreams will be undermined. To refute this meaning, it is said, 'Seeing and hearing,' and so on. For new practitioners with objects of focus, regardless of whether objects exist in ultimate reality or not, in dreams and wakefulness, the mind follows seeing, hearing, perceiving, and knowing. As it arises in this way, some minds become without fruit. Some...
