etc. However, sounds are also diverse, meaning how to view from the perspective of different distinctions for the same thing. Therefore, it is said that this is called "the explanation of manifesting the teachings," which means manifesting the various teachings of the Bhagavan to those beings who are closely connected with great compassion and have various aspirations. Its explanation refers to the fact that conventional teachings are consistent with the principle of cause and effect. It is amazing that the nature of reality itself is the ineffable suchness. In order to correctly show that there are various kinds of speech even in the ineffable itself. Even so, since it does not harm the ineffable itself, it also indirectly realizes that ineffable nature by virtue of the symbols associated with the ultimate truth. If there is no speech, then it is impossible to realize the ineffable nature of the speakable dharmas, which is an amazing truth. As I understand it, the meaning of what the Blessed One said, etc., has already been said before, that only the nature of reality itself is ineffable. Now, in order to show that all dharmas that are non-dual from that nature of reality are also ineffable, (you) with a mindful mind, what the Blessed One said is: "It is so," etc. The eighth question is: "What else," etc. Blessed One, what else, because the ineffable itself speaks of emptiness, and for emptiness there is no change, and because of the power of white dharma, there is no increase, and because of the power of black dharma, there is no decrease. For the paramitas, from the perspective of ultimate truth, there is no increase or decrease. If so, then for what reason can the Bodhisattva, by the power of the increase of the paramitas, manifest and attain the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, or how to approach (the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment)? This is the ninth question. The Blessed One asked thus:

The words "It is so, O Blessed One," etc., are an assent to Subhuti's words, while the words "However," etc., indicate skill in means and the power of dedication. The meaning of "in the meaning of the paramitas" means that in the essential meaning of the characteristics of the paramitas, there is no increase or decrease because of emptiness. In this way, if one is arrogant, one will not attain enlightenment in two ways: either one becomes attached to the view of the perfections such as generosity, or one becomes arrogant about the essential nature of emptiness in the ultimate sense, and does not engage in the practice of the perfections, or does not dedicate to perfect enlightenment; both of these are absent. Among them, the absence of the first is stated as "This is a small part," etc. The absence of the second is stated as "He gives alms," etc. "Those mental activities and those aspirations" refer to those who give alms. "Those roots of virtue" refer to those who are truly associated with those aspirations. "As is enlightenment, so is the dedication" means that the dedication does not become the cause of enlightenment. Similarly, it should be viewed in the following texts as well. The tenth question is stated as "What is this again?" etc. The question is asked because perfect enlightenment is also essentially the same as the ultimate reality, which is inseparable from form, etc., and the uninterruptedness is repeated again and again. "Many" means constantly. Subhuti's words "Thus" etc., are an abbreviation. The chapter focusing on emptiness is the eighteenth chapter on emptiness. From the nature of the profound meaning itself, the eleventh question is stated as "What else is there?" etc. It means that by accumulating roots of virtue, one will realize the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Among them, how is it said to be accumulated? And what was the mind that this Bodhisattva generated before the three great incalculable kalpas?

Then, is it the power of the first (bodhicitta) that causes one to manifest perfect enlightenment, or the second or third? Or, is it the power of the very last bodhicitta of all those abiding at the Bodhi tree seat that causes one to manifest perfect enlightenment? It is not that perfect enlightenment is attained with a single-minded mind, because it does not have such power, and it would completely lead to the accumulation of merit becoming meaningless. It is also not accomplished by all (bodhicittas), because it is to show that those momentary ones are different and have no accumulation. To this, the Blessed One Dipamkara Buddha taught. The wick of an oil lamp is the lamp. The so-called "initial contact" means that it does not burn the remaining wick itself, but only burns the part that it should burn. Similarly, it should be applied to the case where the later flame has not touched it. To this, Subhuti clarifies with "it is not so" and so on. For burning the wick without residue, it is because all the flames touch it in the order of its own parts and must be verified. The Blessed One mainly combines with Subhuti "just like that" and so on. Just as the wick is burned, it is said to be burned by the power of all moments. Similarly, it should also be shown that by the power of all sentient beings, perfect enlightenment can also be manifested, because even if there is only a moment, it changes according to the logic of establishing the habit of habituation. The so-called "not even with those bodhicittas" means because each has no ability. What is said as "those without ability themselves" means: it is not that perfect enlightenment is manifested by other (bodhicittas) other than those bodhicittas, this is showing a deeper place, that is, "which mind has ceased, will it arise because of it?" The so-called "cessation" refers to self-nature cessation, unconditioned, like a rabbit's horn. The so-called "it is not so" means, what is the meaning of the arising of a rabbit's horn? Is it that the mind that arises is of the nature of cessation?
