It has been explained in detail by what is called playing, etc. Among them, prostrating at the feet with entreaty and anger, and making them completely satisfied, is playing. Embracing and kissing, etc., are joy. Approaching for the sake of intercourse is what should be done well. The so-called turning away from samsara is from the stream of future births. Turning away is abandoning. The so-called turning away is because the future has not yet arrived. In some places it is said that it will be done later, which is abandoning, and for it, the meaning is also the same. The so-called ultimately producing is leading from the later end to the earlier end. The so-called establishing, etc., is from hearing the Dharma. Explaining is for the sake of knowing the meaning. Instructing is to instruct how one should practice. The so-called how to instruct and how to explain is because it is explained by concise and detailed explanations, etc. The so-called abiding, etc., has already been said. Subhuti, thus, is according to the order of what was said. Engaging in yoga is accomplishing samadhi. The so-called those faults are referring to generating the mind in the Lesser Vehicle, etc. The so-called by which faults one will regress means that by this, the cause of regression is completely abandoned, and for those who truly examine the profound place, the fruit of non-regression is proclaimed, which is doing that kind of deed. It eliminates the faults of exhausting extremely many eons and regressing from perfect enlightenment. Therefore, compared to the giver who is inseparable from the Perfection of Wisdom and who has an object of focus, this one is more excellent, surpassing by having extremely much merit. What is it? The so-called what was said, etc., is that it establishes the difference of receiving separately for a long time, and it is also said that practicing giving for one day and night is not the same as contemplating the Perfection of Wisdom as it was said, the so-called others, etc., is that giving arises from generosity.

To establish this is because there is no regret from the outside, because that always follows. It is said in the sutra that giving the Dharma of the Perfection of Wisdom itself is the best, surpassing even giving that surpasses morality, i.e., "other" etc. "Will become complete" refers to liberation from inherently existing false discriminations. Similarly, the explanations of patience etc. surpassing giving etc. are to express the cause of even more superior merit. In some places, these explanations are not stated, and some say that they are added to show the nine paths of cultivation. The third question is "When the Bhagavan" etc. Here it is said that "accumulated very much merit." Therefore, Subhuti's question is, which Bodhisattva who does not depart from the Perfection of Wisdom, who is the manifest actor, possessing the nature of merit, therefore universally distinguishes, therefore will he not accumulate very much merit? This is the meaning of "it is reasonable." Some old texts do not have this explanation, because the writers were close to increasing due to carelessness. Otherwise, everything spoken by the Bhagavan will be related. Subhuti also, the Bhagavan's answer is "etc." We say that through purifying manifestation, solely by the Perfection of Wisdom, completely with the nature of ignorance, more merit will not arise. Then, how does one separately distinguish the emptiness of constant time and all aspects, and the accumulation and piling up, of the merit manifested by the Bodhisattva? Having distinguished in this way, because it does not depart from the Perfection of Wisdom, it is said that immeasurable and countless merit arises. Among them, because there is no nature of the completely imputed and other-dependent, it is emptiness. Because children do not understand, therefore for the meaning of not understanding, it is the origination of ka. Merely appearing is speech.

Because there is no ignorance, it is accumulated. Because it is not something to be grasped, it is empty. Because there is no grasper, there is no essence. The so-called "like this" etc., refers to emptiness and so on. If one is to make various distinctions, what distinctions are there, what differences are there, because it comes in response to the occasion, the fourth question is proclaimed, namely: Difference is also excellence. To make various differences is also to cut off. Because distinguishing these is for the purpose of mutual certainty, how is the variety of differences understood, therefore both are taken. The so-called "measure" refers to those that are vast and completely cut off. Because there are none of those, it cannot be measured, therefore it is immeasurable. The so-called "counting" refers to counting in the language of one and so on. The so-called "exhaustion" refers to being led to the ultimate. World Honored One, are there various names? And so on, the fifth question is proclaimed, namely, form is also not other, this is said with the intention of the fully established nature of emptiness. The so-called "whose words" etc., proclaims the sixth question. The extra word is a redundant word, meaning the main expresser. It is proclaimed that merit is immeasurable, therefore, for form etc., how is it immeasurability? This is his intention. The so-called "emptiness" etc., that is, with the characteristic of no-characteristic related to emptiness, it is proclaimed that merit is immeasurable. Form etc. is the nature of emptiness, its essence is also merit, this is his intention. What is this itself? Is it merely emptiness? For the existence of the seventh question, the World Honored One clearly revealed it, that is, with "what do you think" etc. For all dharmas, even with the essence of emptiness, will it perish at other times? He proclaimed that it is also inexhaustible, meaning that because the nature of emptiness is not completely abandoned at all times, it is like space, this is his intention. It is also immeasurable, meaning that it is like space, because it is the essence of emptiness. These dharmas refer to the inexhaustible and the immeasurable and emptiness and no-characteristic.
