The mere appearance devoid of things like cows is not connected to the previous and the subsequent, because even its own part is not the last. Therefore, in the suchness of things like form, it is not possible to distinguish from the mere appearance of things like form, which have different characteristics from each other, just like cows and buffaloes that are completely conceived by others. If, for all conditions, only its own part is the last, then why are these different characteristics recognized? Because of recognizing that very suchness itself. Because for the appearances of form etc. that have different characteristics from each other, it is shown separately by a mind that is merely devoid of persons etc., and thus it is established as the so-called suchness. Moreover, that is not clearly perceived as being different from that mere conceptualization. Therefore, from that itself, its nature is established. If it is said that the suchness made by conceptualization is not established, then what is established from the absence of conceptualization? Because for the same thing, in various establishments, everything is the characteristic of one conceptualization. Therefore, the term suchness is also called the nature of merely universal characteristics in order to cut off the conceptualization of terms such as persons. Here it is to be said that what is said as not seeing suchness as different is well said in reliance on those who are blinded by ignorance. As it is said: Ignorance is what is born, like the entrance of a person afflicted with yellow eyes, it makes one see the untrue meaning, and remains obscuring the truth. Therefore, for this, not appearing to the consciousness of ordinary people is only an ornament and not a fault, because it is the field of activity of the noble ones. For that very reason, this is called the ultimate meaning. It is not an embodied being that is closely conceived by mere conceptualization, because it is to be known individually by the noble ones themselves. For that very reason, it is called the true limit by the meaning of non-perversion. Even so, it is said: Suchness and the true limit, the signless and the ultimate truth, the element of dharma and various names, are the condensed meaning of emptiness.

Inverted, it does not arise elsewhere. Its cessation and the realm of the noble ones are the cause of the holy Dharma. In sequence, they are names and meanings. The explanation here is that, by the meaning of non-duality, it is Suchness; by the meaning of non-inversion, it is the true limit; by the meaning of negating characteristics, it is without characteristics; because it is the realm of wisdom of the noble ones, it is ultimate reality; because it is the realm of ultimate wisdom, it is called the Dharmadhatu, and so on. It is also said of the three natures that one understands each of those natures separately. Regarding the three characteristics at once, one desires to attain complete knowledge and abandonment in sequence. Because the two are not truly seen, the aspects of the two move separately. Being separate from that is the perfectly established reality, which is considered to be non-dual. Not seeing the elephant, and being separate from its appearance, and being close to the tree, how can it be like an illusion at once? By clinging closely to mind-only, it is said that one does not see the object. Because the object of knowledge is not seen, the mind is also not seen. Because both are not seen, one sees the Dharmadhatu. By closely seeing the Dharmadhatu, one does not see the mind. Close clinging is the pervasive nature. By well establishing the meaning of self-nature, one attains unsurpassed Bodhi, the nature of the wise three bodies. Thus it is said. In the *Vyakhyayukti* it is also said: The wisdom of the noble ones is supramundane, and its meaning is the ultimate truth. Its object is not its own characteristic, because its object is the general characteristic, which is not expressible. Furthermore, what is the valid cognition here? Is it mundane wisdom or supramundane wisdom? It is definitely supramundane, and what is obtained after the supramundane is mundane. That is valid cognition, and the other is not valid cognition. Thus it is said. Therefore, it is declared: The realm of beginningless time, all phenomena rely on it. Because of its existence, all beings also realize Nirvana. One should go here from the very beginning. In the ultimate reality of the self-born ones, it burns with light without eyes, but does not see the circle of the sun. Thus it is said. Thus, this verse
