etc. Even if it is very clear, it is called a person with scattered wisdom because he does not understand the causes that may lead to the damage of the ship. The causes that may lead to damage are what was said earlier, such as "not doing the eye patch well" etc. There are two concerns here: the concern of the root being damaged and the concern of the fruit being damaged. Among them, the concern about the root being damaged is "its substance will also become other"; the concern about the fruit being damaged is "great" etc. "From the great meaning" refers to faith etc. that aims at the correct Bodhi. "From the treasure pile of the great meaning of others" refers to the accumulation of the Buddha's Dharma such as strength etc. "Doing the eye patch well" means doing the eye patch well. In any case, do the eye patch well. "Arrange well" means combining all things with completeness, and consistency means following. Therefore, know that it is a vehicle. "Vehicle" refers to the tool for riding. To further illustrate, other metaphors are said, such as "for example" etc. "Old man" refers to the aging body. "Aging" refers to being old. "Aging" refers to the complete loss of memory etc. due to old age. "One hundred and twenty years old" means that he has the age of one hundred and twenty years, so he is one hundred and twenty years old, older than one hundred years old. "Since birth" refers to birth, which is the meaning of birth. Here it refers to the abbreviated meaning that so many years have passed since birth. "Without relying, can you get up from the bed" means not being completely supported by others. "Bed" refers to the bed. "Walking" is for walking. "Destroying" means exhausting. "Where" refers to which direction. "How long" refers to how long. "There" refers to that city. The metaphor itself is a metaphor, such as a ship at sea etc. This is the chapter with the ending, that is, the fourteenth chapter in the chapter of metaphors. Therefore, those who are proficient in Prajnaparamita will fall from the two separate vehicles. What is not separate is supreme.

will awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. To explain this very well, the sthavira Subhuti asked, 'Well then, what should be said to a beginner who has newly and correctly entered the Mahayana?' This is what is called 'a beginner,' and so forth. 'Should abide' means to practice. 'Should learn' means to fully understand. Then, the Blessed One, considering that a beginner needs a virtuous friend in every way, taught, 'One should attend upon virtuous friends.' This is what is called 'Subhuti, here,' and so forth. 'Attend upon' means not abandoning completely. 'Rely upon' means not abandoning completely at the time of teaching the Dharma. 'Reverence' means to rely upon. So, what should they do? The Buddha said, 'Whoever here,' and so forth. 'Admonish' means for the purpose of entering into practice. 'Subsequently show' means for the purpose of arranging the practice in various ways. Regarding the nature of the pith instructions, the Buddha said, 'Whoever,' and so forth. Again, to explain who these virtuous friends are, the Buddha said, 'They are,' and so forth. How do they conveniently indicate the essential points for this person? The Buddha said, 'To him, they say this,' and so forth. That is, in this manner, saying, 'You come here,' and so forth, until 'Do not desire.' The practice of the Prajnaparamita has four aspects: practicing the six paramitas, fully maturing in perfect enlightenment, not clinging to signs, and not desiring other realms. First, the Buddha said, 'Regarding the perfection of generosity,' and so forth. 'Yoga' means union or effort. Second, the Buddha said, 'All of these.' Third, the Buddha said, 'Do not be proud of form,' meaning do not grasp with a discriminating view by the nature of form. 'Not proud' means not discriminating by all dharmas. 'Completely subdue' means habituation. Fourth, the Buddha said, 'Son of good family, you.'
