However, regarding the statement "attaining nirvana in the intermediate state," what exactly is meant by this? It is not the Bodhi of the Shravakas, because it enters into Samadhi characterized by non-grasping of all Dharmas. So, how can the Bodhi of the Shravakas, which is characterized by the realization of the absence of self of a person, completely attain nirvana? This should be explained. The Buddha, whose nature is the three Kayas, characterized by not abiding in Samsara and Nirvana, works for the benefit of beings as long as Samsara exists. Because the state to be attained by Bodhisattvas has not been achieved, merely cutting off the work of benefiting beings with the wisdom of the absence of self of phenomena, and focusing solely on Nirvana, that Nirvana will be explained as being similar to the Nirvana of the Shravakas. The word "also" here, referring to the characteristic of completely non-grasping in three ways, is a summary. Having thus completely perfected the practice of non-grasping, one again begins the practice of close examination, that is, "other," etc., just as with "close examination," one should engage in analytical observation. "Must contemplate" means it must be completely determined. The practice of close examination is shown in two ways: "What is this? Whose is this?" Among them, "What is this?" is asking about one's own nature. To this it should be said that realization is Prajnaparamita. "Whose?" is asking about related things. This has three aspects: one is related to experience. To this it should be said, "All Dharmas." Again, "Because of what is this Prajnaparamita?" is asking for the cause. "Why is this called Prajnaparamita?" To this it should be said, "By realizing its nature as it is." Again, "Whose?" is asking for the cause. "By what cause is this called Prajnaparamita?" To this it should be said, "By renunciation itself." All of this makes it clear, and "What is this?"

This is said for the sake of answering the previous question. Such as "What Dharma is..." etc. The meaning is that all knowable things and the nature of knowledge, free from parikalpita and paratantra, are the pariniṣpanna nature, which is the Prajñāpāramitā. Moreover, at that time, all dharmas are the same as space in the nature of non-apprehension. Therefore, whoever sees it, sees with the wisdom of the nature of emptiness, sees with its own essence, that is seeing as it is. Because at that time, all dharmas do not exist, nor are they objects of perception. Even so, seeing that all dharmas such as form do not exist, and not generating discouragement and fear, etc., then it should be known that he has not separated from the Prajñāpāramitā. This is what the sthavira Subhūti said. The sthavira Śāriputra asks for the meaning of the existence of the nature of non-separation: "Why is it not separated?" That is, at that time, at what time, for which sthavira, all dharmas are empty of self-nature. Therefore, seeing it in this way, it will be shown that it should be known that it is not separated from the Prajñāpāramitā. This also explains the question "Whose is this Prajñāpāramitā?" with Śāriputra's "Form itself is separated from the nature of form," etc., with the same meaning. For example, all dharmas are empty of self-nature, without self-nature. Therefore, in the case of existence, by recognizing what dharma should the Prajñāpāramitā be known, this is what is to be shown. When asking about the cause of "Whose is this?" at any time, the answer is also given: The Prajñāpāramitā is also nature, etc. By the cause of recognizing the nature of all dharmas, the Prajñāpāramitā should be established. At any time, the Prajñāpāramitā itself is separated from its own nature, then what natures will be recognized? This is what is said. All natures are also parikalpita, that is, have become non-existent, then the nature of dharmatā, the Prajñāpāramitā, nature and aspect

It is called "separation." Now, regarding the question of "What is this?", i.e., when to do it, what is said is: "Venerable Subhuti, what about...?" and so on. The practice of definite emergence is called Prajñāpāramitā. And this definite emergence is not present in all dharmas either, because all dharmas are not definite emergence, i.e., unborn. Therefore, definite emergence itself does not exist either, and the meaning is this: In the state of perfect accomplishment, for the dharmas that have the nature of dharmata, because there is no reversal in themselves, there is no sudden definite emergence, because they are naturally pure and because dharmata is immutable. In the state of samsara, for the objects of nature that are defiled by all afflictions and universally conceptualized, when the birth of the essence of dharmata of the dharmas is not produced, there will be no such definite emergence. There is no production in the place free from defilement, and after indicating approximately "in the state with defilement," the definite emergence itself is concluded, i.e., through "Venerable Shariputra, practicing in this way," and so on. Being called "approaching omniscience" refers to that conduct which is practiced with one's own language, therefore it is said in this way. When a Bodhisattva strives with the excellent collection of diligence, etc., possessing diligence, it is said to be practicing in practice, therefore it is said, "approaching omniscience." Again, in order to explain "how exactly does one approach omniscience?" etc., reading the commentary and repeatedly extracting the summary of approach, this commentary is not present in the previous books. Therefore, for the meaning related to Abhisamaya, a detailed explanation will appear. Having thus explained the practice of approaching observation, the practice of wisdom will be explained, i.e., starting from "if one practices in form," etc., not thinking "it is neither something to be practiced, nor something not to be practiced."
