It is because. All afflictions arise from wrong attachments. Not having attachments is because there is no discrimination in the ultimate truth. The so-called "those whose minds are not defiled by afflictions" refers to the virtuous dharmas that become the antidote to afflictions. The so-called "naturally luminous" means: The nature of the mind is naturally luminous, free from defilements, and constantly without all afflictions, because it is emptiness. The so-called "despondency" refers to having afflictions, being associated with laziness. The so-called "rootless despondency," rootless means without a basis, despondency because there is no basis. The mind is despondent, not the nature of the mind, but because of the nature of emptiness, there is no laziness. The so-called "those whose minds are grasped" refers to virtuous dharmas, being associated with diligence. The ultimate nature they speak of is ungraspable, because it is the nature of emptiness from Suchness. What is not to be grasped is the association of diligence. The so-called "with outflows," outflows refer to afflictions. Being associated with those latent states is with outflows. The so-called "without self-nature" means that what exists in one's own essence is self-nature, because it is absent, it is without self-nature. Why is it without self-nature? It is said to be like non-existence, because of discriminating against those without the grasper, etc. With the nature of emptiness, who knows the minds without outflows, meaning that they know the ultimate truth. Those without outflows are because they are the antidote to afflictions. The so-called "tending towards without self-nature" is because it is separated from all self-natures. Without self-nature is tending towards the perfectly established self-nature, because these exist, it is said in this way. The meaning of the statement "measuring with no things" is also this. The so-called "spontaneously accomplished" is because there is no discrimination. The so-called "those with desire" refers to

Having desire, that is, being associated with desire. Mañjuśrī, the meaning of what is called the mind's desire is this. Here, all minds associated with desire are truly known as minds associated with desire. If one knows that desire and mind are indeed associated with desire, then it is not truly knowing. What is called the mind's association with desire, if it is a true dharma, then the emptiness of the mind's nature is also a true dharma. The Tathāgata's extremely pure wisdom or mind does not see desire and other mental phenomena arising from the mind, or see association with desire. Because that desire and so on are considered to be extremely non-existent in all circumstances. Therefore, it should be known that the meaning of that statement is that the mind associated with desire is not as it is, it is untrue. This means that, abandoning it, one knows in a true manner. What is called the mind being free from desire is because it is not associated with desire, so it is called the antidote to desire. Then, how is the mind of the non-learner free from desire? Because desire is not observed in that continuum, and it is not an antidote. Being an antidote by means of complete abandonment and complete aversion, etc., is not so. If the mind of the non-learner is not an antidote to abandoning desire, or complete aversion is also an antidote. What is called the mind being free is because of being free from desire, so it is associated with desire. Because one cannot conventionally say that the mind free from desire is associated with desire. The true suchness of the mind free from desire, that is, the mind's non-association with desire, suchness is emptiness, which indicates that it is not associated with desire. It should be known that the nature of being free from desire will also arise, meaning that the mind's nature of being associated with desire.

And, liberation from attachment itself does not exist in the ultimate sense. In the conventional sense, in the form of complete imputation, it is not possible to say liberation from attachment and having attachment. In the same way, for the word "mind," it should also be explained as having hatred, etc. The so-called "those with hatred," hatred is hatred. The difference from words such as having attachment is that it is entirely due to the exercise of desire. The so-called "minds that are not vast" are because they are approached by those sentient beings who are great with completely pure Dharma, and the great Dharma of Bodhisattvas such as compassion. The so-called "vast" refers to a virtuous mind. The opposite of this is becoming not vast. The so-called "no coming," etc., the non-vastness itself will exist due to other vastness. The so-called "going," if it exists because of going and coming, then the wisdom of the Tathagata does not see it that way, but sees it as the nature of non-entity. Thus, the non-vast mind does not exist as the so-called non-vast. Therefore, knowing them as they are, refers to this way of non-entity. Among them, coming from afar is "no coming." Going far from near is "going." "Going everywhere" belongs to. "With equality," refers to the fact that the Dharma nature of the minds of equality is emptiness, therefore it is equal. Their nature is emptiness, therefore, in terms of emptiness, it is not becoming great equality. The explanation of the so-called "non-vast" is to present the aspect of combining with direct perception in advance from some non-vast explanations. The so-called "vast" refers to the vastness of objects, etc. Not having it is non-vast. The so-called "not possessing arising," arising is production, because it does not have it, so not possessing arising is no-birth and emptiness, and combining with this is not possessing arising. No arising
