DTG094 0001.The Explanation Called Following the Instructions of the Bhagavati..g2.0f

English

It is not existent. Therefore, suchness is not suchness, it is said. As it is said: All views of emptiness, Definitely arise, spoken by the Victorious One. Whose view of emptiness, Those are not to be accomplished, it is said. This is what is said. What is the abiding of suchness? By that abiding, actions and so on are done, the abiding itself is the abiding. By this characteristic of the abiding of Dharma, it also shows that non-difference is oneness. In another way, it is also said to be one, that is, without change and so on. Because it follows the previous nature, it is without change. Because it does not generate other natures, it is without transformation. This shows the complete establishment of immutability, because there is no nature of discrimination, therefore there is no discrimination. Because it is not an object of discrimination, therefore there is no discrimination. This shows that it is completely established by the complete establishment of non-perversion, how are other reasons given for oneness? And so on. That which has no obstruction to anything is because it is all-pervading. This is one, it is also said to be change because of the same kind, saying that it is immutable is non-dual, the nature is one. There is no making into two, that is, it cannot be made different or cannot be made into two. Therefore, it is non-dual suchness, because there is no all appearance of non-dual difference, so it is also suchness. How is it said that way, anything is not suchness, this is what is to be established. Because of anything, that is, each determined association. Suchness, it is not so changed, but it is the meaning of everything. How is that so? Anything is not suchness, that is, for all dharmas, that is suchness, for one it is not something. Why is this said? From anything is also suchness, that is from any individually determined object or time. Of suchness

The so-called realization of self-nature is not a transformation. However, it is suchness in all places and times, therefore it is not the suchness of some individually determined connection. Rather, it is all-pervasive. Because, that suchness is not anything, therefore it is called non-duality. What was said earlier was to show closeness, and what was said later was mainly to summarize, such as "therefore" etc. The so-called "unmade suchness" is unmade, and because it is constant, it is also suchness, that is, to follow the Tathagata with this. Thus, following the Tathagata's suchness, showing closeness to the Venerable (referring to Shariputra), and in order to show following the Tathagata himself, it is said "What is the unmade suchness" etc. Because suchness is non-dual, therefore, the Venerable follows the one manifested by the Tathagata himself, that is, following the same nature as the Tathagata. Or, the Tathagata and the Venerable Subhuti etc., because of the same suchness, the Venerable exists following the Tathagata with suchness, but how to follow the Tathagata himself? Because the Tathagata and the Venerable etc. are different, doubts arise, in order to show that like suchness, the two, the Tathagata and the Venerable etc., also have no difference because of the self-nature of suchness, therefore it is said "How is the Tathagata's suchness" etc. In all aspects, there is no distinction for places and times etc., the so-called non-distinction, non-discrimination, is as said before. Thus, because of the self-nature of non-distinction and non-discrimination, from emptiness, the Tathagata himself also manifested Subhuti. The meaning is: the self-nature is originally emptiness, stained by habitual tendencies, shaken by the wind and solidified, the Dharma-nature is like a stone. The so-called "These two are neither kalpas nor different" means being abandoned by the one who harms.

"Because faith is not observed" means that for the emanation of the Tathagata and Suchness, no cause is observed that makes them different. To summarize, it is "If so," and so on. Now, because the Suchness of the Tathagata and the Suchness of all dharmas are the same, it is shown that the permanent one follows the Tathagata, such as "How is the Suchness of the Tathagata," and so on. "Non-different" means non-different. Because of being non-dual, non-different is also this, and Suchness is also this, therefore it is the Suchness of non-difference. Following that, that is, following that Tathagata. Following in the order of what is said is to dispel the doubt that the Dharma of following is the ultimate truth, that is, "In some place here," and so on. "Here" refers to the following being indicated, and some place refers to Subhuti or another. "In some place" means that it is not following the Tathagata or another, because the Dharma of following does not exist in the ultimate truth, that is the meaning. "If so," and so on, is to summarize. "How is that the Suchness of the Tathagata," and so on, is to show this, that is, how for the Tathagatas and others who fall into the three times with the nature of complete imputation, Suchness is also not truly held by the three times, similarly, for all dharmas imputed, their Suchness is also not truly held by the three times. Similarly, the Suchness of the permanent Subhuti is also not truly held by the three times. Therefore, it is said to follow the Tathagata. "By the Suchness of the Tathagata," and so on, is to show this, that is, whatever is the Suchness of the Tathagata, that is the Suchness of the dharmas such as the past, therefore, because it has the nature of all Suchness, whatever is the Suchness of the Tathagata, that is, the Suchness of Subhuti.
