In order to obtain the correct version, those previously abandoned should also be collected here. Because these four feelings have been abandoned, the thorn of neither suffering nor pleasure has been transcended. Therefore, it is said to be neither pleasure nor pain. Equanimity and mindfulness are completely purified, which shows the cause of the immovability of the fourth dhyana. To show the formless samadhi, that completely transcends all perceptions of form, it is said that by developing faith like the sky, one becomes weary and detached from the perceptions of color associated with blue, yellow, red, white, etc., thereby causing them to disappear. Therefore, by becoming accustomed to meditating on faith like the sky, one completely transcends those perceptions of form, and all thoughts of obscuration arising from the causes of multiple colors superimposed, such as pillars, walls, planks, etc., will not appear. Therefore, it is said that the thoughts of obstruction have all disappeared. Because those have disappeared, in order not to engage in the various thoughts that enter into many forms of color, such as food, drink, riding, clothing, ornaments, houses, gardens, and mountains, etc., it is said that one does not attend to various thoughts. By completely destroying all those thoughts focused on form, one will become faithful to the infinity of space. Therefore, it is said that, thinking that space is infinite, one perfects the sphere of infinite space and abides therein. That completely from the sphere of infinite space completely, that is, thinking that consciousness is infinite, it is said that with that consciousness that believes in the infinity of space, holding the belief in the infinity of space itself as infinite, wanting to enter the sphere of infinite consciousness, thereby reversing the thought of the sphere of infinite space, thereby believing that consciousness itself is infinite. Therefore, it is said that thinking that consciousness is infinite. That completely

"Having truly transcended the sphere of boundless consciousness" means that he has moved beyond the sphere of boundless consciousness, and if he seeks a different object of focus apart from consciousness, he finds nothing, whether it is form or formless. Because he has not found that object of focus, he has truly transcended the sphere of boundless consciousness, and focuses on, believes in, cultivates, and enters into samadhi on the sphere of nothingness itself. Therefore, it is said that "thinking there is nothing, he has perfected the sphere of nothingness and abides." "He has truly transcended the sphere of nothingness in all ways" means that he sees the perception of the sphere of nothingness as a gross fault, and therefore reverses from the perception of the sphere of nothingness. He reverses the perception of what exists when he previously entered into samadhi on the sphere of nothingness. Now, since he reverses from the perception of nothingness, it is said to be without perception, like the samadhi without mind, not that all perceptions are completely ceased, but because it is extremely subtle, the signless perception arises, therefore, it is said to be "neither with perception nor without perception." In the teaching of liberation, "having form, seeing forms" means that having attained the samadhi focused on inner form, he enters into samadhi focused on outer forms, which is a general statement. Here, the first two liberations are the contemplation of impurity, and they are also the nature of the first and second dhyanas. The third liberation is the nature of the fourth dhyana, and it is also the nature of non-attachment, as explained. Here, when one desires to enter the first dhyana, in order to counteract the attachment to the colors of the desire realm, one enters into the samadhi focused on inner hair and so on, and after that, focuses on outer blue and so on. When entering the first dhyana, it is said to have form. Similarly, in order to counteract the attachment to the colors of the first dhyana, when entering the second dhyana, it is also said to be "having form, seeing forms," which is due to focusing on inner form.

This is called having form. Due to the absorption that focuses on external forms, this is called viewing forms. Here too, due to the absorption, it is called viewing forms. The second is, perceiving that there is no internal form, viewing external forms, this is because some yogis do not enter into the absorption that focuses on internal hair and so on. When focusing on external blue colors and so on, in order to counteract attachment to colors and so on used in the desire realm, one enters the first dhyana, or in order to counteract attachment to colors and so on used in the place of the first dhyana, one enters the second dhyana, this is its definition. Called aversion, this is the liberation of aversion. By practicing the impure contemplation, making the mind stream depressed and feeling happy, or if all the pleasing forms are taken to mind as impure, then due to attachment to colors and so on, will the mind stream change? Or will it not change? In order to awaken to this point, one practices it. Focusing on pleasing forms and so on, when entering the fourth dhyana, it is called aversion. Even if in the moment of absorption, there is already no discrimination of impurity and so on, but due to prior habituation, it is said in this way. The liberations of the formless realm have already been explained. The dhyanas and the eight formless realms, and the cessation of perception and feeling, are the nine successive abidings of absorption. Thirteenth fascicle. The so-called ten powers of the Tathagata, that is, regarding a place, one truly knows that it is a place as it is. Regarding a non-place, one also truly knows that it is a non-place as it is. What is a place? What is a non-place? The ripening result of misdeeds, the undesirable is a place. The undesirable ripening result is a non-place. The ripening result of good deeds, the desirable is a place. The undesirable ripening result is a non-place. Stinginess leading to poverty is a place. Becoming very wealthy is a non-place. Generosity
