The evil of not holding onto things forgetfully, wisdom is called the Dharani of Dharma. Then, what is the Dharani of meaning? The meaning of the Dharmas held by those Bodhisattvas is immeasurable, countless, and inconceivable. The memory and wisdom of holding onto them without forgetting them for an immeasurable time are called the Dharani of meaning. Among them, the Dharani that has become the nature of patience, as mentioned before, is the cause of the previous perfection, and can only be obtained in the land of faith and practice. The other three Dharanis can be obtained after the first immeasurable kalpa has passed, starting from the first land. Moreover, in the Sutra it is said: A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who possesses four Dharmas is perfect in Dharani. Therefore, the four Dharmas are the cause of obtaining Dharani. The four Dharmas are the opposite of the equality of self and others, such as being particularly attached to these desires, as well as jealousy, stinginess, and dislike of the joy of Dharma. The opposite of this is to despise desires, have no jealousy, give everything away, and like this, starting from the Bodhisattva's treasury, rejoice in the Dharma. According to the order mentioned in other Sutras, in the first land, the Dharani called 'Especially Superior Abode' is obtained, and by its power, it becomes the abode of all particularly superior holy Dharmas. In the second land, the Dharani called 'Immaculate' is obtained, and by its power, the discipline is completely purified there. In the third land, the Dharani called 'Extremely Stable' is obtained, and by its power, it is extremely stable due to the perfection of the power of patience, free from all mental disturbances. In the fourth land, the Dharani called 'Difficult to Overcome' is obtained, and by its power, all demons and heretics cannot overcome it. In the fifth land, it is called 'The Mind Adorned with Qualities'. In the sixth land, it is called 'The Lamp of the Mandala of Wisdom'. In the seventh land, it is called 'Superior Conduct'. In the eighth land, it is called 'Non-Discrimination'. In the ninth land, it is called 'Limitless Door'. In the tenth land, it is called 'Inexhaustible Treasure', and so on, from land to land, each

Having obtained dharanis and so on, countless immeasurable thousands of dharanis, therefore it is called obtaining dharani. Therefore, like this, the land of practice with devotion also becomes a common ground, so this merit is mentioned. In another way, if all letters are mastered, it becomes the cause for realizing all dharmas. For example, for the statement "all dharmas are unborn," attaching the meaning of unborn to the first letter "A" (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A), it is universally accepted that "A" is the meaning of unborn. When practicing correctly with the union of calm abiding and insight, through the power of familiarity, a single letter "A" appears as the state of unborn of all dharmas. Therefore, the letter "A" is the cause for realizing all dharmas. Therefore, if one meditates relying on the meaning of "A" itself, such as unborn, unarisen, the nature of non-entity, non-cessation, etc., it becomes the cause for individually realizing all dharmas. Therefore, it is said, what is the gate of dharani? For example, the equality of letters, the equality of sounds, letters are the gate, and the entry of letters. What are the letter gate and letter entry? The letter "A" (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is the gate of all dharmas, because it has not arisen from the very beginning. The letter "ra" (Tibetan: ར, Sanskrit Devanagari: र, Sanskrit Romanization: ra, Chinese literal meaning: ra) is the gate of all dharmas, because it is free from defilement, and so on, will be explained below. Therefore, when one realizes all dharmas by relying on these letters, mindfulness and wisdom arise, and because they hold their meaning, they are called dharani. The result arising from the cause of that dharani is able to focus on the ultimate truth of all dharmas, therefore, mindfulness and wisdom are called the dharani of endurance. Furthermore, if these letters themselves are well practiced with all diligence, they become the cause for remembering the continuous and extremely rapid flow of dharma spoken by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and their meanings, and one becomes very familiar with the collection of names, the collection of words, and the collection of letters, therefore, mindfulness and wisdom themselves are called the dharma dharani and the meaning dharani. Furthermore, these letters themselves
