In the commentary, it says, 'Form is completely ungraspable,' which means that for the Dharma-nature of form itself, there is no cause that leads to grasping it as self or as belonging to self. Therefore, form is ungraspable. So, if one operates on the basis of manifest fabrication, then one is not operating on the practice of the perfection of ultimate wisdom, this is what it shows. Why is it said that form is completely ungraspable? Like this, that which is the complete ungraspability of form is also said to be not form for the sake of its own nature being emptiness. Here, 'completely ungraspable' refers to the characteristic of being completely established. Saying that, the Dharma-nature of form is not completely graspable, and whatever is the nature of complete accomplishment is not the nature of the imputational form, therefore, the Dharma of Dharma-nature is completely ungraspable, this should be connected in this way. 'For the sake of its own nature being emptiness' means that none of the aspects of form and other phenomena are first completely grasped and then later emptied by some other antidote; its own nature is emptiness, this is its definition. Similarly, this should also be applied to feelings and so forth, and to the limits of reality. This is the samadhi-mandala of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, called the complete non-grasping of all phenomena, which is vast, excellent, immeasurable, definite, unseizable, and not shared by all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, this is to explain its Dharma. Abiding in that samadhi-mandala and so forth is to explain its benefits. The Omniscient One is also, from inner emptiness onwards, because of the emptiness of the nature of non-things, it is completely ungraspable, because the wisdom of all emptinesses is completely cultivated, and the ultimate of all phenomena being without object is called the Omniscient One, therefore, that too is shown to be completely ungraspable. Therefore, it is said that it is not expressed as a sign, the Omniscient One is also separated from the sign of the Omniscient One.

That is to say, it is called the word "the nature of the appearance is completely absent." Thus, saying "the appearance is not the cause of affliction" means that the distinguishing appearance of the Bodhisattvas, that is, the continuum of the mind, turns into affliction, so it is called affliction. They also explain it by not clinging to appearances. What is an appearance? Such as "form is an appearance," and so on. All of these, in terms of ultimate truth, are the afflictions of the Bodhisattvas, so they should be abandoned, not like desire and so on. If one clings to appearance with the Perfection of Wisdom, then "even if one practices asceticism by wandering everywhere," etc., clearly explains the principle of non-appearance. The so-called "even if one practices asceticism by wandering everywhere, one will also generate faith" means that the wanderer previously had not attained non-appearance, but generates faith in this, and with that faith, the wisdom of non-appearance arises and is attained. Because all phenomena have not become objects, it is not by the wisdom of non-appearance. The so-called "small amount of wisdom" means entering into each of the phenomena separately, and when clinging to form and examining it separately, the appearance of form is not seen. Likewise, when clinging to feelings, etc., and examining them separately, the appearance of the phenomena of feelings, etc., is also not seen. Therefore, having entered in this way, one has not clung to form, likewise, feelings, perceptions, volitions, and consciousness, up to the point of not clinging to the limit of suchness, as has been explained. To show the reason for this, it is said, "He does not see clinging to all phenomena that are empty of their own nature," that is to say, with that wisdom of non-appearance, entering into the nature of each and every non-appearance, one knows that all phenomena are empty of their own nature, therefore, one does not see the person or wisdom that can cling. Also, for the reason for that, in this way, by obtaining wisdom and the manner of realization, one has not truly seen that wisdom within, one has not truly seen it outside, hearing and realization.
