Because when expressing differently in complete purity, it is not permissible to express in other ways. Thinking that because of following the power of the previous, it is said to be "mind" and "non-mind." Then, the venerable Shariputra, regarding that non-mind thing, is it possible to have or not have as an object or to exist? Thus he spoke. In the state of non-mind, neither existence nor non-existence should be spoken, because it would rely on two extremes. This is what he thought. Therefore, the venerable Subhuti said, "It is not so." Then, the venerable Subhuti again said, if in that state, because of the fear of two extremes, it is not permissible to say in either way, Why do you ask like this, is it reasonable for you to argue and examine like this? Thus he spoke. After saying this, the venerable Shariputra thought, if existence and non-existence do not exist, then the nature of non-mind will also not exist, why say non-mind? So he said, "Venerable Subhuti, what is non-mind?" Then, the venerable Subhuti said: Regarding this, I think that the nature of non-mind has changed, so I do not say non-mind, in the previous state of being defiled, what would change, because it is discriminatory, so it is called mind, now because there is no such thing, only acknowledging that there is no thing called mind, so it is said to be non-mind, in order to show this, the venerable Shariputra said, "Non-mind is unchanging and non-discriminatory." Previously, like the state of mind, the absence of change and discriminatory things, here it is called non-mind, this is its definition. After saying this, the venerable Shariputra thought, is it that in that state, only the mind is unchanging and non-discriminatory? Or are all dharmas also unchanging and non-discriminatory? Then, the venerable Subhuti, just as the mind is unchanging and non-discriminatory, is form also unchanging and non-discriminatory?

Questions were asked about "what" and so on. Then, the Venerable Subhuti declared that from the Buddhadharma to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, there is no change or differentiation. The son of the Blessed One, called "born from the heart," refers to the miraculously born sons who are born from the father's heart, hence called "sons born from the heart." Or it refers to the eldest son; similarly, this Venerable one is also born from the mind of the heart, hence called "born from the heart," because it arises from the contemplation of calm abiding and insight. Called "born from the mouth" because it arises from the spoken Dharma. Called "born from the Dharma" because it arises from the Dharma of practice. Called "an emanation of the Dharma" because it arises from the paths, fruits, and discriminating Dharmas. Called "enjoying the share of the Dharma" because one will become the owner of the Dharma of Nirvana. Called "not enjoying the share of material things" because one has abandoned craving. Called "having the manifest name of the Dharmas" because it cannot be taken away by anything other than the Dharma nature. Called "the body having become manifest" because one has attained the samadhi of form and formless realms, and has manifested the Dharmakaya. Called "the best of those who abide without afflictions" refers to the samadhi of the aspect of the Shravakas that is not in accordance with the sound of afflictions, which is called the samadhi without afflictions, and therefore abiding in it is called abiding without afflictions. Here, all the elaborations of differentiation are called afflictions, and because there are none of these, the samadhi without differentiation is called without afflictions, and abiding in it is called abiding without afflictions. Then, the Venerable Shariputra made him very happy with praises such as "Excellent!", thereby showing that a Bodhisattva who strives in this way is irreversible, and said that this Prajnaparamita is beneficial to all learners in the lands of Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas, and should be understood in this way.
