Thinking, is the so-called Bodhisattva a nominal designation for form? Or, is the so-called Bodhisattva a nominal designation for feeling? And so on, he asked. If the Bodhisattva is the nature of a nominal designation, then the five aggregates such as form, and their nominal designations of fourteen kinds such as permanence and impermanence, would become its nature. Therefore, is the so-called Bodhisattva a nominal designation for form? Is the so-called Bodhisattva a nominal designation for feeling? Thus, he grasped each nominal designation separately and asked. Then, the Venerable Subhuti said, since form and so on are all conceptual constructs, they are utterly non-existent. How could one then observe their nominal designations? If nominal designations are unobservable, how could one observe a Bodhisattva? Thus, he showed that nominal designations do not exist, and that the Bodhisattva is not the nature of a nominal designation. Then, the Blessed One, relying on the fact that nominal designations are unobservable, said, "Subhuti, well done, well done! Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should thus, from the unobservability of the nominal designation of form, up to the unobservability of the nominal designations of consciousness, pleasure, pain, self, no-self, peace, non-peace, emptiness, non-emptiness, sign, no-sign, aspiration, no-aspiration, train in the Perfection of Wisdom." Thus, he instructed with nominal designations. Thus, it was shown that the so-called Bodhisattva does not exist in either the ultimate truth or the conventional truth. Not only does the Bodhisattva not exist, but all dharmas also do not exist. In order to show the instruction that all dharmas are unobservable, the Blessed One, taking up the words previously asked by the Venerable Subhuti, said, "Subhuti, whatever you said..." to conclude the topic. The Venerable Subhuti said, "Venerable Blessed One, it is like this: I do not truly see the dharma of what is called a Bodhisattva." By saying that he truly saw the dharma of what is called a Bodhisattva, he thus showed that in the ultimate truth, no one has seen anything.

Then, the Bhagavan also, in order to show that in the state of not being completely accomplished in the ultimate sense, no one sees anything, and that is also not seen by others, said: "Subhuti, the realm of Dharma does not truly see Dharma. The realm of Dharma does not truly see Dharma," and so on. The imputed Dharma does not truly see the perfectly established realm of Dharma. Likewise, the perfectly established realm of Dharma also does not truly see the imputed Dharma. To show that very thing, "The realm of form does not truly see the realm of Dharma," and so on, was said. Then, again, as the reason for that difference, why is that? Because apart from the conditioned, the unconditioned cannot be established, it was said. If the conditioned Dharma and the unconditioned Dharma become different, then in that case, one would also see the other. For the conditioned, there is no difference whatsoever called the unconditioned. That is, the Thusness itself is called the conditioned in the state of being impure, and the same is called the unconditioned in the state of being pure. For example, water that was not clear before, but later becomes very clear, is also called that same water. Just as the sky, which was previously stained by clouds and so on, later becomes without stain, is also called that same sky. Likewise, the Thusness that was previously impure, later becomes extremely pure, is still that same Thusness. Therefore, there is no difference in essence between the conditioned Dharmas and the unconditioned. Therefore, just as oneself does not truly see oneself, likewise, the imputed Dharma does not see the perfectly established realm of Dharma, and the perfectly established realm of Dharma does not see the imputed Dharma. Why is that? Because others will see others, but oneself will not see oneself, that is the concluding statement. In order to show the benefit of this application of not focusing on all Dharmas, Subhuti, the Prajnaparamita of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva

When practicing transcendence, no dharma is truly seen as it is. Because it is not truly seen as it is, one does not fear, does not panic, and does not become agitated. One's mind does not become dejected, does not become completely dejected, and regret does not arise in the mind. Thus it is said. The result of this practice of non-objectification of all dharmas is the increase of faith and the increase of wisdom. The increase of faith is the absence of fear and so on. The increase of wisdom is the absence of mental elation and depression. This faith also increases especially in three aspects: explaining profound dharma, accomplishing extremely difficult tasks, and the Buddha's dharma being extremely rare and wonderful. If faith increases in these three aspects, fear arising from disbelief will not arise, and dejection arising from not understanding will not arise in these three profound aspects. This is the concluding statement. Among these, the initial arising, in a small situation, is called fear. The intermediate situation is called panic. The situation that has become great is called agitation. Similarly, mental elation should also be divided into three situations. Then, beginning with "form is not truly seen as it is," the non-objectification of all dharmas itself is explained in detail. The aggregates, elements, sense bases, and the limbs of dependent origination, as well as desire, hatred, and ignorance, as well as self, sentient beings, life, and so on, the thirteen, as well as the desire realm, the form realm, the formless realm, as well as the Hearers, the Hearers' dharmas, as well as the Solitary Buddhas, the Solitary Buddhas' dharmas, as well as the Bodhisattvas, the Bodhisattvas' dharmas, the Buddhas and the Buddhas' dharmas, and enlightenment, these dharmas have all been explained. The aggregates, elements, sense bases, and the limbs of dependent origination encompass all internal and external dharmas. Desire, hatred, and ignorance encompass all afflictions and aspects of bad rebirths.
