In the Dharma Sutra, which is the place of the four noble truths, there are four kinds of conceptualizations: conceptualizations of impermanence, suffering, selflessness, and peace, as well as conceptualizations of permanence, happiness, self, and non-peace, which are contrary to them. The objects of the doors of liberation are conceptualizations of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, as well as the conceptualizations of non-emptiness, signs, and wishes, which are to be abandoned by them. Individually contemplating things as they truly are is the remainder, namely, conceptualizations of conditioned phenomena, birth, non-seclusion, etc., as well as non-virtue, fault, defilement, affliction, worldliness, pervasive defilement, and cyclic existence, which are ten in number, and their antidotes, namely, contemplating unconditioned phenomena, cessation, seclusion, virtue, faultlessness, undefilement, unaffliction, transcendence, purification, and nirvana. These ten conceptualizations are also the objects of practice for hearers and solitary realizers, but bodhisattvas should completely abandon all of them. Abandoning these thirty-four conceptualizations is to show the benefit of studying that is merely nominal. The statement, "Not truly seeing what is in the realm of the conditioned or the unconditioned," means that the Perfection of Wisdom and so forth are not satisfied with being in the conditioned or the unconditioned. In order to show that one does not discriminate when speaking of the white and black sides of that, it is said, "Do not discriminate about all things," that is, do not discriminate in the distinctions of permanence, happiness, self, etc., as do the non-Buddhists, and do not discriminate in the distinctions of impermanence, suffering, selflessness, etc., by means of higher vision, etc., as do the hearers and so forth. Thus, in order to show the bodhisattva's training, which is the antidote to all conceptualizations and discriminations, it is said, "Do not discriminate."

Dwelling in the Dharma of the Truth, from practicing mindfulness and so on, up to the ultimate unshared Dharma of the Buddha has been spoken. In order to show that the reality of phenomena, which has become the object of non-discrimination, is the antidote to the objects of the Hearers and so on, therefore, when he practices the Perfection of Wisdom, the nature of phenomena is extremely discriminating, because whatever the nature of phenomena may be, it will not become a completely afflicted state, nor will it become purified, thus it is spoken. Because Suchness is completely pure by its very nature, in the state of having defilements there is also no completely afflicted state, and in the state of being without defilements there is also no sudden purification, because it always abides in Suchness, thus it is shown. Therefore, all those previously shown are completely imputed, those are not as they really are, they are not true, thus it is spoken. Subhuti, thus when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should understand the designation of names and the phenomena to be expressed, with this sentence he shows those completely imputed ones, because not being manifestly attached to all phenomena is its result, therefore, if he understands the establishment of names and the phenomena to be expressed, he will not be manifestly attached to form, and so on, showing the second benefit. Thus, knowing that all phenomena are merely imputed, one should not be manifestly attached to form and other completely imputed phenomena, as well as to the ultimate of the skillful means of purifying the Dharma of Buddhahood, this is the concluding statement. One will not be manifestly attached to Suchness, one will not be manifestly attached to the limit of reality, one will not be manifestly attached to the Dharmadhatu, this is according to the order previously mentioned, the object of the path aspect knowledge, gathered by the Bodhisattva ground, is called Suchness. The object of the All-Knowing Wisdom, the Nirvana of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, is called the Limit of Reality. The object of the All-Aspect Knowing Wisdom, the Buddha

The Dharmakaya belonging to the realm of practice is called the Dharmadhatu. Furthermore, the benefits of meditating without attachment are: Subhuti, thus, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, the Paramita of generosity increases due to non-attachment to all dharmas, and so on, as taught in the scriptures up to the attainment of the doors of Dharani and the doors of Samadhi. Having thus completed the instructions on the expressible, the second instruction on not focusing on sentient beings will be taught. Thus, the venerable Subhuti initially asked: "Bhagavan, how does one become a Bodhisattva Mahasattva?" etc., because of that phrase, thinking that there is some dharma called Bodhisattva, in order to dispel the doubts in the minds of some who thought that the venerable one spoke thus, the Bhagavan said to Subhuti: "Subhuti, what do you think? Is form a Bodhisattva? Or is something other than form a Bodhisattva? Is there a Bodhisattva in form? Is there form in a Bodhisattva? Is something without form a Bodhisattva?" Thus, he asked five questions. If one clings to a Bodhisattva as a sentient being and imagines it as something different like self, then there will be three kinds of distinctions: the independence and basis of identity and otherness, and the existing object and something other than that. Thus, if one clings to a Bodhisattva as the very nature of a sentient being, is it the nature of the five aggregates, like the self fabricated by those who assert annihilation? Is it something other than the five aggregates, like the self fabricated by those who assert permanence? In this regard, first taking the side of sameness, is form a Bodhisattva? Is feeling a Bodhisattva? Is perception a Bodhisattva? Such words were spoken. Secondly, taking the side of otherness, is something other than form a Bodhisattva? Is something other than feeling a Bodhisattva?
