Thus it is said. From that time onward, no other object of focus abides in it except the realm of phenomena. And one does not focus on the realm of phenomena as a sign either. Thereafter, the benefits of obtaining forbearance of the unborn dharma are as follows: the Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not generate the perception of sentient beings. Why is that? Because sentient beings are truly without birth and without cessation. The nature of all phenomena is without birth and without cessation, as it is taught. To practice the Prajnaparamita knowing that sentient beings are without birth and without cessation means that from that time onward, their conduct is without the object of sentient beings, as it is shown. By the power of compassion, conventional consciousness arises, and at that time, although one has completely accomplished generosity and so forth for the sake of sentient beings, one abides in the unbornness of sentient beings, the unceasingness, the emptiness of sentient beings, the absence of focus on sentient beings, and the solitude of sentient beings. Thus abiding, one accomplishes everything. Thereafter, to show that their abiding is truly extraordinary, it is shown by "Shariputra, this is the supreme yoga of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas" and so forth. Thereafter, although there is no object of sentient beings, for the sake of sentient beings, distinguishing between love and compassion, and generosity and discipline, it is shown by "great love, great compassion, the one who accomplishes manifest realization" and so forth. By the six phrases beginning with "one does not practice a miserly mind," it is shown that there are no opposing factors to the six perfections. Thereafter, in order to please the resident and the retinue, and to transform that occasion into a great Dharma teaching, they asked, "From where did they die and come to be born here?" Among them, the superior ones come from the Buddha-field and are reborn in the Buddha-field. The intermediate ones come from Tushita. The inferior ones come from among humans, thus showing three types. Thereafter, from that time on, the Bodhisattva has many...

In order to show that there are, Shariputra, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who are not skilled in means, like this, etc., showing the categories belonging to the forty-four kinds of Bodhisattvas. Among the first and second kinds of those unskilled in means, the former unskilled in means is that, although diligent in the practice of meditation and the practice of paramitas, they are born in the long-lived gods because they are not skilled in means, and during that time they are diligent in the paramitas, and later when they are born in the human realm, they are diligent by the power of practicing the paramitas in the past, but their faculties become dull. The second is that, diligent in the practice of meditation and the practice of paramitas, they abandon the fruit of meditation and are not born in the heavens, and even if they are born in the human realm, they become dull in their faculties because they are not skilled in means. The latter ones are all skilled in means. The first of these is shown to be that, in this very good kalpa, they will manifest the unexcelled, perfectly complete enlightenment, that is, those who have trained in the practice of meditation and the practice of the Bodhisattva, and by the power of compassion, completely abandon rebirth by the power of meditation, and are devoted to doing the benefit of sentient beings and pleasing the Buddhas, and therefore manifest enlightenment in this very good kalpa. The second kind of people have those qualities, and they make the sentient beings who have not previously fully matured fully mature. The third kind of people have those qualities, and are born in the six desire realms who are fond of pleasure, and abide in the state of perfect power, doing the things that make sentient beings fully mature, the things that make the Buddha-fields completely pure, and the things that please the Buddhas. The fourth kind of people are born in the Brahma world, and go from Buddha-field to Buddha-field by means of miraculous powers to listen to the Dharma, and are devoted to doing the things that please the Buddhas, and make aspirations in order to pray, and thus pray for those who have manifested enlightenment not long ago to turn the wheel of Dharma. The fifth kind of people, for example,
