Having taught, "Like this, even the past limit cannot be truly traced," you yourself have stated this reason. The three times, including the past limit, cannot be truly traced. If they cannot be truly traced, how can they be connected? The statement "Do not connect with the past limit and the future limit" means that if one practices with the view of karma and result, saying, "The ripening of the karma of the past limit will be experienced as such a future limit," then it is connecting with the past limit and the future limit. It can also be said to connect the future limit with the past limit. If one practices with the discrimination that "The ripening of the karma of the past limit is what appears now, this is it," then it is connecting with the past limit and what appears now. It can also be said that what appears now also connects with the past limit. If one practices with the view that "Having done karma now, it will ripen in the future limit," then it is connecting what appears now with the future limit. It can also be said to connect the future limit with what appears now. If one sees the three times as being equal, then there is no difference in time, because time is not specified in all self-natures. Therefore, it is said, "Because the three times are of equal nature." Having taught, "Do not connect form with the past," you yourself have stated the reason that "The past itself cannot be truly traced." In the past, form became like this; in the future, form will become like this; now, form exists. Connecting in this way is called connecting form with the three times. The statement "Do not connect form with omniscience" means that if one considers form to be the object of omniscience, or if one completely dedicates this form as an object for accumulating merit, such as giving, and thinks that omniscience will become the result, then it is connecting with omniscience. The statement "Do not connect with the Buddha and omniscience" means that omniscience is the cause of the Buddha, or that omniscience comprehends all dharmas and is called enlightenment. Do not connect in this way.

Therefore, Buddhas and Bodhi, and all-knowingness, are not different in the nature of Dharmakaya because of their single nature. Therefore, all-knowingness is the Buddha. It is said that the Buddha is all-knowingness, and so on. One should not say that form arises. One should not say that form ceases, because seeing arising and seeing destruction are views of permanence and annihilation, so they do not arise. One should not say "permanent" because of the power of view. One should not say "impermanent" because of the power of discrimination. Similarly, it should be applied to others as well. One should not say that form is pacified, because there is no characteristic of Nirvana in the imputed form, etc. One should not say that form is not pacified, because there is no characteristic of Samsara in the form of Dharma-nature, etc. One should not say that all-knowingness is pacified, because there is no such object of discrimination. Similarly, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness are all without objects of discrimination. Similarly, it should be applied to discriminations such as conduct. One should not practice Prajnaparamita in the meaning of Dana Paramita, because it is unreasonable to grasp differences in all dharmas in the Dharma-nature where there is no difference, because all are not different in the nature of Prajnaparamita. Therefore, because of the difference, no dharma should be rightly seen. If Prajnaparamita is not rightly seen, what about Bodhisattvas? Is there all-knowingness in all ways? It is said that all-knowingness is the nature of imputed and the object of imputed, so it is said. Similarly, it should be applied to the reason for action and obtaining benefits, etc. The characteristic of diligence is obtaining its benefits, that is, Shariputra, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, thus in Prajnaparamita.

When practicing, it is shown by demons and so on. Gathering with all dharmas shows samsara. Separation shows nirvana. Meeting or not meeting shows the karma of the two. The dharmadhatu does not cause the dharmadhatu to manifest perfect enlightenment, meaning that the tathagatagarbha does not cause the tathagatagarbha to manifest perfect enlightenment. Form and emptiness do not combine, meaning that form does not combine with the nature of emptiness, nor is form called the name of emptiness. Emptiness and form do not combine, meaning that emptiness does not combine with the nature of form, nor is emptiness called the name of form. Or, form and emptiness do not combine, meaning that it is not said that form is empty, that is, it is not said that form and emptiness are different. Shariputra, a bodhisattva mahasattva who strives in this way should be regarded as having received a prophecy. It means that having attained the eighth ground, one becomes prophesied, or because one is capable of being prophesied, one is close to being prophesied. On the eighth ground, one obtains forbearance of no birth, and thus the parāmitās of maturation arise. Because the parāmitās of maturation arise, one practices in the parāmitās, matures sentient beings, matures the Buddhadharma, purifies the Buddha-field, manifests perfect enlightenment, turns the wheel of Dharma, and accomplishes everything effortlessly and spontaneously. In this way, the practice of maturation is spontaneously accomplished, and even though one benefits countless, immeasurable, and inconceivable sentient beings, one does not think, "The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have prophesied me." I am close to being prophesied," and so on. And it shows the reason for abiding in spontaneous accomplishment, that is, the dharmadhatu does not regard characteristics as...
