The paths, etc., the precepts with five branches, and the precepts with eight branches, these three dharmas are the dharmas of precepts, laymen, and laywomen. The end of the path of meditation, etc., is the Dharma of the Hearers. The Dharma of attaining Buddhahood, such as the Paramitas, up to the point where it is unmixed with the Dharma of the Buddhas, is the Dharma of the Buddhas. At the beginning, these virtuous dharmas appear in the world, like a great Sala tree of the royal family, etc., by showing the sentient beings belonging to the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm, it shows the ripened result of virtuous deeds with outflows. Those who have entered the stream appear in the world, etc., by showing all the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, it shows the ripened result of virtuous deeds without outflows. "Giving is completely purified" means that those who give alms will become great fruit and become extremely pure, which is called "giving is completely purified." "Because giving is extremely pure" means that this is the nature of the Bodhisattva's giving, because it is the giver, it shows. After showing how to strive in this way, in order to show what is the characteristic of those who strive, "Bhagavan, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva strive in the Prajnaparamita, which is called striving?" he asked. Then, by means of the aggregates, elements, sense bases, noble truths, dependent origination, and all dharmas, conditioned and unconditioned, all dharmas are individually summarized into seven aggregates. When practicing emptiness in seven ways, it is not enough to perfect the effort, so for the time being, it cannot be called effort. Because effort has been started, it cannot be said that it is not effort. In order to show this reason, it is said that one does not say effort or non-effort. Then how can one

It is said, "Why would there be doubt?" Having said this, it shows that if one practices emptiness in four ways—the self-nature of individual distinctions is not found, the self-nature of aggregates is not found, one's own characteristics are not found, and all phenomena are not found—it is called diligence. In this way, he does not truly see form as being of the nature of arising or of the nature of ceasing, and so on, up to not truly seeing self-enlightenment, Buddha, and perfect enlightenment. This is extensively shown. In this way, his saying that form is of the nature of arising or of the nature of ceasing is synonymous with saying the self-nature of arising or the self-nature of ceasing. If form is of the self-nature of arising, then it will not become of the self-nature of ceasing. If it is of the self-nature of ceasing, it will not become of the self-nature of arising, because it is extremely contradictory for one thing to have two self-natures. If form has a dharma called arising, then does it arise from itself, or from another, or from both, or from no cause? There will be four kinds of analysis. Among these, arising from oneself is unreasonable, because at that time the dharma has not arisen. The self-nature of non-existence cannot be the cause of arising. If it is said that the dharma already exists before arising, that is also unreasonable, because what already exists should not arise again. If arising from existence is constant, then it will arise at all times, and will never not arise. Therefore, arising from oneself is unreasonable. Arising from another is also unreasonable, for if others arise from others, then everything will arise from everything. Arising from both does not escape those two faults. Arising from no cause is also unreasonable, because then everything would arise from everything at all times. Thus, if analyzed in this way, there is no arising in ultimate truth. As it is said: Not from self, not from other, not from both, not without cause. Whatever things, wherever, arising never exists. As it is said.
