If, with regard to things that will arise in the future and the present, similarly, relying on what arises in the present, it transforms into the other two times, and so on, if someone thinks this way. If, relying on the past, it transforms into the two times of the present and the future, then the arising of the present and the future will also exist in the past time. If the future and the present arising do not exist in the past, then they will not rely on it. If the future and the present arising both exist in the past time, then those two also exist there, therefore they will become the past itself. Similarly, if the present arising and the past both arise relying on the future, then the present arising and the past will exist in the future, and if they do not exist there, then they will not rely on it either. If those two exist in the future, then those two will also become the future itself. Similarly, if the past and the future both arise relying on the present arising, then the past and the future will exist in the present arising, and if they do not exist there, then they will not rely on it. If those two, the past and the future, exist in the time of the present arising, then those two, because they exist there, will become the present arising, and then it will only become one time. Therefore, with those ways and so on, in the ultimate sense, there is no such thing as the so-called prior extreme, later extreme, and middle extreme. The Blessed One only taught those in the worldly convention, and I think this is emptiness that transcends extremes. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva thinks like this: If all phenomena are emptiness, then why did the Blessed One say that the cycle of children is long? Monks, this cycle has no beginning and no end, thus he declared that the cycle exists. Therefore, the cycle exists. Because it exists, the one who cycles also exists. Therefore, all phenomena also become existent through its means, and after thinking this way, he also determines it like this: there is no such thing as the so-called cycle. Why? Because it appears that there is no beginning and no end.

If there were some dharma called samsara, then it would also have a beginning and an end. However, I have not seen any dharma that has a beginning and an end. The Blessed One also said that the previous limit is not visible. If both the beginning and the end are obstructed, but the middle is not obstructed, and therefore the middle exists, that is also unreasonable. How can there be a middle for something that has no beginning and no end? The term "middle" arises in dependence on the beginning and the end. If there is no other dharma called samsara, then where will sentient beings wander in samsara? The Blessed One also spoke of samsara, saying: Monks, this samsara has no beginning and no end, and the beginning is not visible. Sentient beings, obscured by ignorance and bound by craving, wander and revolve everywhere. If this is said, then the answer is this: samsara itself is not reasonable in ultimate truth. If something wanders in samsara, is it something permanent or impermanent that wanders? A permanent dharma should not wander in samsara, because it does not change. An impermanent dharma also should not wander in samsara, because momentary phenomena perish in that very moment, and in the second moment, only something else arises, so where is there samsara? Therefore, the term "samsara" is merely imputed to the uninterrupted continuity of phenomena due to the continuity of arising and ceasing, that is, the uninterrupted continuity of the aggregates is called samsara. This is emptiness, which has no beginning and no end. Furthermore, the bodhisattva thinks this: Even though samsara has no object, nirvana as another dharma exists. One cannot say that the truth of cessation does not exist, because the Blessed One also explicitly stated: Monks, the unborn, unmade, unoriginated, unconditioned exists. Therefore, that which is not abandoned exists. For the sake of abandoning and eliminating, the term "abandonment" refers to the five aggregates. In the scriptures of the Tathagata Kashyapa, the aggregates are named as abandonment. Now it is also said that there is one existence to be abandoned, and five existences to be abandoned.
