In order to merely expand all the dharmas that do not combine the practice of calming and insight meditation to attain the limit, when focusing on the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, one discerns with ordinary consciousness that does not remain in equanimity. Therefore, because one does not possess the causes and conditions for calming and insight, one will not directly realize the true limit. Similarly, it is said below, "Rabjor, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva discerns emptiness, which possesses all kinds of excellence, with the thought of directly realizing it, they do not discern it, but rather discern, 'This is the time to become familiar with it, not the time to directly realize it.'" Although they closely apply their mind to the object of focus in a state of non-equanimity, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva will not degenerate from the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment at that time, nor will they directly realize the exhaustion of defilements, and so on. "Knowing according to the sound" means that any sound is called "according to the sound." Knowing that is "knowing according to the sound," that is, with what kind of knowledge does a Bodhisattva discern and know all the sounds and languages of sentient beings in hell, animals, hungry ghosts, gods, humans, and Brahma, is "knowing according to the sound." In everything, one should also combine "abiding in the Prajnaparamita," and it should be understood that one meditates in a way that is without an object of focus. Therefore, it is taught in the same way in all the hundred thousand verses and so on. The "five undiminished superknowledges" means that in all the deaths and births of beings, because one possesses the five superknowledges without diminishing the superknowledges, it is called "undiminished." The "six perfections" means that the six perfections have already been explained before, but here it is also said that they belong to the category of maturing sentient beings. The "six dharmas that lead to true harmony" come from the hundred thousand verses, namely, loving physical action, loving verbal action, loving mental action, equality in discipline, equality in views, and equality in livelihood.

These are the six dharmas that truly become suffering. The so-called seven treasures are: faith, discipline, learning, generosity, wisdom, shame, and the treasure of conscientiousness. The so-called eight kinds of conceptualizations of a great person, the conceptualizations of a Shravaka are as explained in the Pramāṇavārttika. The conceptualizations of a Bodhisattva are: When will I be able to eliminate all the sufferings of all sentient beings? Thus conceptualizing; When will I be able to place sentient beings oppressed by poverty in great wealth? Thus conceptualizing; When will I be able to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings with this body of flesh and blood? Thus conceptualizing; Even if sentient beings stay in hell for a long time, when will they only become beneficial to sentient beings? Thus conceptualizing; When will I be able to see the hopes of all the worlds fulfilled by worldly and transworldly wealth? Thus conceptualizing; When will I become a Buddha and be able to completely liberate all sentient beings from all the sufferings of samsara? Thus conceptualizing; A birth without benefiting sentient beings, a mind not used for the sake of sentient beings, only enjoying the taste of the ultimate truth, language that does not make all beings feel comfortable, a life that does not benefit others, a body that cannot benefit others, intelligence that is not clear about benefiting others, wealth that is not used to benefit sentient beings, power that does not accomplish the benefit of beings, may I not become one who delights in harming others life after life, thus conceptualizing; May all the results of all the sinful actions of all living beings ripen on me, may all the results of what I have skillfully enjoyed ripen on all sentient beings, thus conceptualizing. These are the eight kinds of conceptualizations of a great person. When conceptualizing in this way, in order to make these conceptualizations fruitful, looking at the worldly beings with compassion, and in order to accomplish the benefit of others, one should meditate on the non-objective attention of wisdom.
