. Therefore, this was asked in four ways: How to realize complete and perfect enlightenment of all dharmas in all ways? How to be a Bodhisattva Mahasattva? How is the Prajnaparamita? And how to strive? These four points will also be elaborated below as appropriate. After asking this, the Blessed One's teachings are divided into two ways: sutra and extensive explanation. Among them, Shariputra, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the Prajnaparamita in a non-abiding manner, from "should cultivate great love, great compassion, great joy, and great equanimity" to the end, in a concise way, it gathers and shows all dharmas. After that, grasp these dharmas and give extensive explanations. Shariputra, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the Prajnaparamita in a non-abiding manner, etc., showing the four conducts. That is, through the sentence "should strive in the Prajnaparamita," it shows the four conducts, namely the non-discriminating Paramita conduct, the conduct corresponding to the Bodhi divisions without near afflictions, the conduct of completely maturing sentient beings without harm, and the conduct of completely maturing all Buddha dharmas without defilement. Among them, skillful means can accomplish the conduct of Paramita. Fully familiar wisdom can accomplish the conduct corresponding to the Bodhi divisions. Compassion can accomplish the conduct of completely maturing sentient beings. Wisdom can accomplish the conduct of completely maturing the Buddha dharmas. Among them, abiding in the Prajnaparamita in a non-abiding manner, etc., shows the conduct of Paramita. Shariputra, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the Prajnaparamita, and should perfect it with the four mindfulnesses, etc.

Until the completion of the desireless samadhi, it shows the practice of the path to enlightenment without afflictions. From "the four dhyanas" to "the nine abodes of sentient beings," it shows the practice of maturing sentient beings without harm. From "the ten powers of the Tathagata" and so on, until "the completion of great equanimity," it shows the practice of maturing the Dharma of the Buddha without defilement. Among them, the practice of the Paramitas is shown by abiding in the Prajnaparamita in a non-abiding manner and so on. The practice of the Paramitas is shown in three ways: abiding, practicing, and the purity of the three spheres. For example, the three hundred verses show abiding, practicing, and well grasping the mind. Abandoning the desire for differences in results other than that, benefiting all sentient beings with the power of compassion, generating the thought of accomplishing happiness, and with the power of wisdom, not abiding in anything, whether it is the three realms or all dharmas, is called abiding in the Prajnaparamita here. Therefore, it is said, "Abiding in the Prajnaparamita in a non-abiding manner," which is synonymous with "the reason for non-abiding." The intention is that not abiding in all things is itself abiding in the Prajnaparamita. Here, Prajnaparamita is shown to be omniscient, or non-discriminating wisdom, or the Mahayana. Correct practice in accordance with the path to enlightenment is practice, therefore it is said, "One should perfect the Paramita of generosity." If one seeks all dharmas in ultimate reality, then the three spheres are purified, therefore it is said, "Because the object of giving, the giver, and the receiver are not seen, it is in the manner of non-giving." The Bodhisattva, moved by compassion, gives all that all sentient beings desire.

When giving, it is only called giving, not the perfection of giving. When the giver or the giving is completed, it is thoroughly sought in four ways, thoroughly understood as it is in four ways, and then thoroughly combined with the perfection of wisdom. At that time, through diligent practice, the name "perfection" is obtained. Bodhisattvas first accomplish all actions with compassion, and then thoroughly purify them with wisdom. Therefore, compassion is the cause of accomplishment, and wisdom is the cause of purification. Compassion purifies intention, and wisdom purifies action. Compassion abides in the conventional truth and accomplishes, while wisdom abides in the ultimate truth and combines. All actions done with compassion are for the benefit of sentient beings, and therefore are regarded as the accumulation of merit; wisdom is for the sake of enlightenment, and therefore is regarded as the accumulation of wisdom. Therefore, the perfection of giving should be completed in a way that does not abandon. Bodhisattvas, from the moment they realize suchness on the first ground, if they seek all actions in the ultimate truth, they will directly see and abide in suchness, otherwise it is not so. Even suchness, at the time of giving, no one can give or receive, therefore, in the ultimate truth, there is nothing that can be called "thorough giving." Whatever giving there is of food, drink, bedding, etc., all abide in the imputed dharmas, and therefore are not truly existent like dreams and illusions. In this way, being separated from the characteristic of thorough giving in the ultimate truth is called "the way of non-abandonment." With the way of non-abandonment, one does not fixate on the three—the object to be given, the giver himself, and the receiver who receives from the beggar—because this is separated from the nature of fixation. The term "furthermore" means relying on and holding on to, thereby perfecting the perfection of giving. First is the power of compassion.
