Having obtained that place, it is called becoming young because it is free from all effort and discrimination. Offering lotuses, why do the Buddhas offer lotus offerings and also pray for healing? This is the conventional language of the Buddhas, and when followers see or hear it, they will be very convinced and say, 'Aima! They have no arrogance or jealousy.' It is also to know that there are Buddhas residing in other Buddha-fields as well. The teachers say, 'These are to be tamed, because they have not yet been completely accomplished, so it should be known that Bodhisattvas and their retinues are to be tamed, therefore lotuses are offered.' Therefore, because these have not been completely accomplished, son of good family, you should act cautiously in that Buddha-field, this is the subsequent teaching, that is, because this Buddha-field has the impurity of afflictions, the impurity of time, the impurity of lifespan, the impurity of views, the impurity of beings, there are five impurities, so it is said. Among them, the impurity of afflictions is that in this Buddha-field, desire and hatred and ignorance, etc., are many and great, not small. Therefore, they also practice the ten paths of non-virtuous actions, and many other extremely sinful deeds besides that, because of this, beings in the hells, animals, hungry ghosts, asura realms, and among humans, many sufferings appear. Most Buddha-fields are not like that. The eon is also bad, because of the intermediate eon of famine, unbearable famine sufferings occur intermittently in the world. Because of the intermediate eon of disease, many diseases occur. Because of the intermediate eon of weapons, many mutual harms occur. Because of destruction by water, the afflictions of the sentient side increase greatly, because of destruction by fire, the hatred side increases greatly, because of destruction by wind, the ignorance side increases greatly, and so on, many faults of the time occur.

O! The dregs of life refer to the uncertain lifespan of sentient beings, with intermittent and immeasurable lengths of life. Intermittent means that life can be reduced to ten years, and even that is uncertain. Some die in the womb, some die immediately after birth or in childhood, or in youth, or in adolescence, or in adulthood, or in middle age, or in old age, etc., there is no certainty of death. Because of this, there are so many sorrows, wails, sufferings, and displeasures in the world. The dregs of views refer to extremely evil views that destroy all virtues. If classified according to their respective categories, there are sixty-two types. For those who are attached to wrong views, even a thousand Buddhas cannot save them. All heretics are slanderers, without faith, do not gather, are extremely vile, and are not born vessels of Dharma. The evil thoughts in their hearts are like a stove, the evil thoughts in their hearts are like garlic, and the holy Dharma cannot subdue their minds. Therefore, this world is defiled by these five faults, so apart from us, all the Buddhas, the World Honored Ones, have abandoned this world and attained perfect enlightenment in other Buddha lands. Our Tathagata, in the past, when practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva, made this vow: "Wherever there is a world abandoned by others, I will subdue the beings there with great diligence, great patience, and great skillful means, and attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment there." Therefore, even the world abandoned by all the Buddhas, the World Honored Ones, for our benefit, he still does not spare his efforts and personally endures suffering, so our Buddha, the World Honored One, is endowed with great compassion. The so-called five dregs are like food with a bitter taste that brings suffering and is not suitable for consumption, these are similar to that. Again, like medicine

It is like the residue that is extracted from stale butter and discarded, which is unusable. Or, like something boiled in turmeric, as long as the power of the turmeric has not disappeared, it cannot be dyed another color. These sentient beings are also like that, so they are called residue. Therefore, because this world has such a great defect, all the Buddhas guide and instruct those Bodhisattvas who desire but have not yet fully achieved enlightenment. For example, when people walk on a large, flat ground, if they approach a place that is frightening with thorns, rubble, stones, etc., if they are not guided, they will suffer great pain because they are accustomed to walking on the previous ground in the same way. Similarly, in order to avoid these Bodhisattvas also suffering the same pain, the Buddhas give guidance. Saying that these Bodhisattvas are difficult to approach is not primarily disparaging the Bodhisattvas, but primarily disparaging the world. Because in such an evil world, even Bodhisattvas are suspected. After hearing these words, it is to make those born here feel disgusted and to generate greater faith in the Tathagata. Serving, respecting, revering, and making offerings, praising with words is revering. Respecting and cherishing with the mind is respecting. Joining palms, bowing, and circumambulating with the body is serving. Expressing with flowers and incense and other offerings is making offerings. Is the harm small? Is the fear little? Is the movement light? Are you alive? Are you strong? Are you dwelling in comfort? This is called inquiring about illness. Because there is no sudden illness, it is said that the harm is small. Because the four conditions are fully possessed, it is said that the fear is little. Because there is no weakness due to aging, etc., it is said that the movement is light. Harm
