Shariputra, the various beings of children manifest various actions through names and forms. The meaning of this is: at this time, it refers to the bodhisattva mahasattvas who observe without any object of focus, considering attachment to what should not be done as practice. Therefore, due to the distinctions of their minds, they show both attachment and non-attachment. Then, the venerable Shariputra further said: "O venerable Subhuti, if a bodhisattva mahasattva gives alms in a dream, up to practicing wisdom, etc.," he spoke other criticisms. "Let's leave aside the newly trained bodhisattvas for a moment. If a bodhisattva whose continuum is fully matured gives alms in a dream, then for him, dreams and wakefulness are the same. Just like being awake, can he properly perform rejoicing and dedication, etc., for giving alms, etc.,?" Thus he spoke. Venerable Shariputra, the bodhisattva mahasattva Maitreya, etc., at that time, in order to benefit the assembly of those to be tamed, or to show agreement with his own thoughts, he answered that criticism. "Venerable Shariputra, what do you think? Does this name called the bodhisattva mahasattva Maitreya answer? Or does form answer?" etc. The venerable Shariputra answered the criticism with attachment with the previous answer, like this, for a bodhisattva who observes without any object of focus and whose continuum is fully matured, whether in a dream or awake, giving alms, etc., rejoicing and dedication, etc., are not present like things in a dream. Is he asking criticisms as if he does not understand that they do not exist? This is to show emptiness. If there is no person and no dharma, then will Maitreya answer? From what consideration is he speaking? Is he speaking by grasping at a temporary name? Or will form, etc., or their emptiness answer?" Thus he said. All dharmas are non-dual and cannot be divided into two.

If they are not different but exist as one, then who will say what to whom, and answer to whom? Who will answer with what? This is the final conclusion. Son of lineage, have you directly experienced these dharmas as they have been spoken? This is what the Venerable Shariputra said: If you have directly experienced these dharmas in that way, then the one who experiences, the object to be experienced, and the act of experiencing will be perceived as different. Therefore, the noble Maitreya spoke again: These dharmas, as I have spoken, have not been directly experienced, because at the time of experiencing, these dharmas are not visible, and if they are unspeakable, how can they be spoken? Have you correctly seen the dharma by which one is called an Arhat? He said this, and thinking that there is no dharma called Arhat except for the change of state, he again said: World Honored One, it is not so. World Honored One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva perfect the six paramitas? What does he mean by asking this? If all dharmas are invisible, then for whom and how does one perfect the six paramitas? He asked this. Then, the World Honored One, in order to embrace sentient beings, through the power of compassion, showed that one becomes a conceptual being with attachment to appearances in a conventional way, and explained in detail the methods of perfecting the six paramitas, and the methods of purifying the Buddha lands. All of these were not distinguished in detail because the meaning was clear. These aspirations of Bodhisattvas are not possessed by everyone, but different aspirations arise according to their different thoughts. Some people make aspirations in all aspects, but later, due to the karma of sentient beings, some aspirations cannot be fully realized. The prophecy of the Ganges goddess is also easy to understand. Then, the Venerable Subhuti meditated on the three doors of liberation, and the thirty

When practicing the seven branches, how does a Bodhisattva abandon the liberation of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas and engage in practice? The explanation given thereafter is that one should individually examine "emptiness." When the Vipassana of emptiness manifests and increases, it is imperative to examine individually in that way, without allowing the mind to wander. One should examine individually in that way. During the Samadhi of emptiness, because of having a non-distracted mind, one does not truly see any Dharma that should be made manifest. At the time of attaining Suchness, because one has not truly seen it, one does not make it manifest, and so on. The scripture from "having it is not, not having it is not" until the end shows that the object and the subject are equal, thus showing the equality of non-discrimination. Because he does not truly see that Dharma, he does not make it manifest. This is because not seeing the Dharma is the cause of not making it manifest. If one sees it, then one will make it manifest. If one makes it manifest, what fault will occur? Then one will manifest the true extreme like a Sravaka. In that case, it will also be combined with his liberation. How is it that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in emptiness but does not manifest emptiness? Emptiness is the place where one does not truly see any Dharma that should be made manifest. Furthermore, it is said that because one does not truly see that Dharma, one does not make it manifest. This shows that one does not manifest emptiness. It is asked, how can one know that one abides in this but does not manifest it? The Bhagavan showed the transformation due to the power of the previous intention. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva individually examines emptiness, which is endowed with all the most excellent aspects, one does not manifestly examine individually. This means that one should practice emptiness, which is due to the previous intention.
