Unlimited wise ones, unlimited wise ones in blessing the realm of the Buddha, unlimited wise ones in expressing the conduct of the aspects of enlightenment, unlimited wise ones in expressing worldly wisdom, unlimited wise ones in expressing the realm of sentient beings, unlimited wise ones in expressing the realm of those to be tamed, unlimited wise ones in expressing the realm of Dharma, unlimited wise ones in completely purifying the Buddha's field, unlimited wise ones in entering all the Buddha's spheres of activity. Among these twenty kinds of wise ones, the Bodhisattva who is extremely skilled has no fear in whatever assembly he goes, like a lion, like Brahma, like the Tathagata, like the sky, without fear, with pride, becoming the best of the flock, without attachment to anything, he will go in seven ways. No one can overcome him, and I have nothing that I cannot overcome, therefore it is said that he is fearless, overcoming the infinite retinue. The so-called wise one who is certain to arise from infinite billions of kalpas shows the similar cause of the perfection of diligence, which has become the nature of maturation. Thus, because the Bodhisattva has attained the perfection of diligence of maturation, he does not generate the thought of difficulty for all difficult tasks. He does not generate any weariness in doing things that benefit sentient beings. When he strives with extremely great diligence, many kalpas will pass, even up to hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas will pass. For example, when our Bhagavan Shakyamuni became a Bodhisattva, when he pleased the Buddha named Star King, nine kalpas passed. Thus, after passing with great diligence, many hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas will pass, but no one will be able to surpass countless kalpas. Therefore, it is said that he is wise who is certain to arise from infinite billions of kalpas. Thus, these

By demonstrating the merits of combining with definite conduct, in order to demonstrate the merits of the ground that leads to the ultimate destination above, it is said that "all dharmas are understood to be like illusion, mirage, water moon, dream, echo, cataract, image, and emanation," which indicates that one has attained the samadhi called "discriminating all dharmas," which is in accordance with the cause of the ripening Perfection of Wisdom. Like this, although illusion and so on are utterly non-existent, they become objects, therefore, all dharmas should be understood to be similar to that. For the sake of the inclinations and various thoughts of those to be tamed, or in order to dispel eight doubts, eight metaphors are shown. If all dharmas are actually non-existent, then how can they become objects by means of shape and so on? In the absence of an object, how can mind and mental factors arise by focusing on dharmas? If dharmas do not exist, why do birth and destruction appear? If dharmas do not exist, how can names such as food, drink, giving, receiving, happiness, and suffering be applied? How can they become collections of names and sentences? How can they arise from causes and conditions? How can the resultant dharmas be similar to the cause? How can doubts arise about actions such as going and coming? If dharmas do not exist, then for the question of "how are they shapes and so on?", the example is illusion. For example, the magician uses illusion to manifest groups of elephants, groups of horses, vehicles, small armies, mountains, food, drinks, etc., although they appear by means of shape, they do not actually exist, and all dharmas are the same. If mind and mental factors arise by focusing on them, then how is that? For example, by focusing on mirages, the minds and mental factors of sentient beings act perversely, and all dharmas are the same. How do birth and destruction arise? There is no fault in this, because all dharmas originally have no birth and destruction.
