If there is Prajñāpāramitā apart from form, it is impossible, because its nature is empty, so it cannot be said to be different. Therefore, Kauśika, like this, all these dharmas are not real, because they are invisible. Then, in order to show that this Dharma teaching is amazing, Indra arranged four statements: This pāramitā is great, this pāramitā is immeasurable, this pāramitā is incalculable, and this pāramitā is boundless. The so-called prior limit of form is invisible, which means whether it arises or does not arise at that time. The so-called posterior limit is invisible, which means whether it will arise or will not arise at that time. The so-called middle limit is invisible, which means it is invisible as being or not being. Thus, because there is no distinction in the three times, it is great. The so-called measure of form is invisible, which means that in the ultimate truth, form does not have a limitation of "only this much", so it is immeasurable. Because it is incalculable in number, it is incalculable. Because the moment does not completely cease, it is boundless. The so-called prior limit refers to the boundary of birth. The so-called posterior limit refers to the boundary of cessation. The so-called middle refers to the abode of the moment. Thus, after indicating with one boundless pāramitā, then showing with four kinds of boundlessness, namely, all-knowingness is boundless, Dharmakāya is boundless, suchness is boundless, and sentient beings are boundless. Among them, what is called sentient beings boundless? The so-called limit refers to two limits, namely the limit of permanence and the limit of annihilation. The absence of these two limits is boundlessness, that is, the absence of the limit of sentient beings is sentient beings boundless. If it is said that there are sentient beings, then if that is the case, it will become having a limit, like this, sentient beings are only empty in nature, therefore, sentient beings boundless of empty nature do not exist. This sentient beings boundless also exists in this Dharma teaching.

It is not so. If some sentient beings were indicated in this Dharma discourse, then if that were the case, infinite sentient beings would also be indicated. Since sentient beings are not indicated in this way, therefore there are no infinite sentient beings here either. Therefore, Kaushika, wherever there is no mention of sentient beings, there are no infinite sentient beings either, it is said. Because sentient beings are not indicated, infinite sentient beings are also not indicated, this is the concluding remark. After that, Kaushika, if the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, were to abide for as many kalpas as there are sands in the Ganges River, and were to utter "sentient being, sentient being," and so forth, this shows that infinite sentient beings are not a verbal construct, but because there are no sentient beings, the nature is infinite. If infinite sentient beings were a verbal construct, would sentient beings arise or cease from the Tathagata's speech? As it is, it is not so, therefore infinite sentient beings are not produced from speech, this is the concluding remark. Kaushika, in these ways, because sentient beings are infinite, one should understand that the Prajnaparamita is infinite, which means that if a sentient being is indicated in this discourse, then because it is there, there will also be two extremes, but because these two extremes are not indicated either, this Paramita will be infinite. Because sentient beings are not indicated, there are no sentient beings. Because there are none, there are no two extremes either. Therefore, because sentient beings are not indicated, it is said that this Paramita is infinite, this is the concluding remark. Even though there is no attachment to any Dharma, there is also the distinct establishment of the three vehicles, which is said in terms of ultimate truth and conventional truth. Even apart from the Dana Paramita, the Tathagata is ungraspable, which means that the Dharmakaya Tathagata is the Dharma-nature of the Buddha. Bodhisattvas also study this, because in ultimate truth it is the Dharma-nature of the Buddha, therefore there is no difference between Bodhisattvas and the Tathagata, so it should be said that it is the Tathagata, this is the concluding remark.
