The so-called "wisdom follows" refers to how other Arhats unintentionally perform actions of body, speech, and mind, also confess transgressions, and are unaware of habitual tendencies, but the Buddhas do not do so. The Buddhas subdue beings merely by seeing. Speaking, not speaking, eating, sleeping, walking, coming, dwelling, alternating, emitting light from the body, (the Buddha's) marks, (the Buddha's) excellent signs, placing the feet, and opening the eyes also subdue beings. All the words of the Buddhas accomplish all the benefits of all beings, do not change in ultimate truth, have various forms and sixty branches, and are in accordance with the thoughts and habitual tendencies of all beings. The activity of the mind is also not associated with all the habitual tendencies of afflictions, all the habitual tendencies of discrimination, and all the habitual tendencies of elaboration, but possesses the state of great love and great compassion, without completely abandoning the correct extreme, and follows the nature of ultimate truth. All these three activities arise from the cause of the arising of the five wisdoms, therefore wisdom precedes. Because of running together with wisdom, these three dharmas are what wisdom follows. The so-called "The Tathagata's wisdom sees and engages without attachment or obstruction to past time," etc., refers to how Arhats, wherever they strive to abandon, know that very thing, otherwise knowing would be attached and obstructed, but the Tathagatas do not have this. The Tathagatas, in past time, how many Buddha-fields have appeared, and in those Buddha-fields, how many minute particles of earth, water, fire, and wind there are, how many grasses, trees, medicines, and forests there are, how many kinds of beings there are, and the kinds, colors, ages, shapes, postures, mental behaviors, thoughts, faculties, and different inclinations of those beings

And, how many Buddhas appeared in those places, and how much Dharma they taught, and how many sentient beings were tamed by the three vehicles, and how many Shravakas were there, and how many Pratyekabuddhas were there, and how many Bodhisattvas were there, and how long was the lifespan of all of them, and their time of food, and how much clothing and all enjoyments were there, and how many kalpas of burning occurred in those worlds, and how many were destroyed by water, non-existence, and wind, and how vast was the realm of space, and how many shapes of stars were there, and how many mountains and valleys were there, and rivers, and lakes and oceans, and how many villages and cities were there, and towns, and regions, and countries, and how many were the surroundings of the king's palace, and how many classifications of trade seasons were there, and how many fields, and monasteries, and gardens, and forests were there, and how many deaths and rebirths of sentient beings were there, and how many kinds of destinations were there, and how much breath went in and out of them, and how many opening and closing of eyes were there, and all other similar things, the Tathagata directly knew in a single moment in the manner of counting, completely ascertained and completely knew. Similarly, for all that will happen in the future and is happening now, the Tathagata's wisdom enters without attachment or hindrance. These are the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. The great vehicle of the gate of Dharani, then what are the gates of Dharani? It is like this: the equality of the nature of letters, and the gate of letters, and entering into letters, this is called Dharani. Dharani means that previously the qualities of the Bodhisattva were described as the Dharani of patience, and the Dharani of Dharma, and the Dharani of meaning, and the Dharani of mantra, these four are called Dharani. The gates of those Dharanis are the gates of Dharani, which are the letters. Through the power of definitely thinking about the letters, these four Dharanis will arise. So what is the nature of those letters? The nature of letters is
