The five (qualities) and the three doors of liberation, and not grasping at things and characteristics, etc., show the reasons why one will not fall into the grounds of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Why is that? Because, from the time a Bodhisattva Mahasattva first generates the mind, he takes up (practice), and even when giving alms, he does not grasp at characteristics, and even when meditating on emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness samadhi, he does not grasp at characteristics. In between, it shows that the Bodhisattva possesses skillful means and wisdom, and the conduct of purifying the three circles, and the reasons why he will not fall into the grounds of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Shariputra, like this, with a mind free from characteristics, perfectly giving alms, and even with a mind free from characteristics, meditating on all-knowingness, in between, it shows that the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is skilled in means. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva's conduct of purifying the three circles, and the nature of possessing skillful means. Question: World Honored One, as I understand the meaning of what the World Honored One has said, from the time a Bodhisattva Mahasattva first generates the mind, he takes up (practice), and if he does not separate from Prajnaparamita and skillful means, then there is no doubt about his unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. This is because, in order to make the audience firmly believe in the meaning mentioned above, Shariputra asked. Why is that? World Honored One, because from the time a Bodhisattva Mahasattva first generates the mind, he takes up (practice), and even he does not cling to all-knowingness or any dharma, in between, it shows that the Bodhisattva does not cling to any dharma of the conduct of purifying the three circles, nor does he cling to characteristics, then, the reason why unsurpassed Bodhi will undoubtedly be achieved. Because, in terms of ultimate truth, all dharmas from form, etc., to all-knowingness, do not have inherent existence, therefore, it shows that the knower and the cause of the known are all without object of focus.

The son or daughter of a noble family of the departed Bodhisattva Vehicle, if separated from the Perfection of Wisdom and skillful means, then for those, the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment is undoubtedly understandable, because, practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva without possessing skillful means and wisdom, it is not certain to attain unexcelled enlightenment, and they will definitely fall into the realm of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, that is its meaning. Why is that? World Honored One, it is like this... until "Therefore, the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment of the son or daughter of a noble family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle is undoubtedly understandable," it shows the reason why Bodhisattvas who practice without possessing skillful means and wisdom will definitely fall into the realm of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, that is, if the six perfections are practiced with the three spheres impure, then it will definitely not manifest and attain unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, that is its meaning. World Honored One, therefore, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who wish to manifest and attain unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment should not be separated from the Perfection of Wisdom and skillful means, until "practice towards all-knowingness," it shows the method to manifest and attain unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, that is, do not be separated from skillful means and wisdom, and practice the pure dharmas from the six perfections and so on until all-knowingness, with a non-objective way and a signless mind, this is what is to be shown. Then, starting from "the sons of gods in the desire realm and the form realm said this to the World Honored One," until "unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment is difficult to arise," it explains that all dharmas are without substance and without object, and wanting to attain unexcelled enlightenment, Hearers and Solitary Buddhas and so on have objects

It means that even those who are capable cannot do it. From "The Blessed One taught with skillful means" to "Why is that? Sons of gods, all dharmas are extremely pure," it is because the Blessed One clearly explained it in order to make the retinue firmly believe. From "Then, the venerable Subhuti said this to the Blessed One" to "It is not difficult to attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment," it means that if the dharmas have something real, it is difficult to realize their non-existence; it is not difficult to know that what is non-existent is non-existent, which is what Subhuti said. Why is that? From "Blessed One, it is like this" to "There is no such dharma to be fully enlightened," it explains the reason why it is not difficult to realize the non-existence of all dharmas when they are without substance. Why is that? From "Blessed One, it is like this, all dharmas are empty" to "Blessed One, therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva can easily attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment," it is because all dharmas belonging to the aspect of purification and the aspect of affliction are empty in nature. In order to increase the dharmas of purification and decrease the aspects of affliction, the dharmas to be meditated and practiced from the six paramitas to the all-knowing wisdom are also empty in nature, and one can know them. The causes of knowing are also empty in nature, because there is no substance, so it is not difficult to recognize the non-existence. Why is that? From "Blessed One, it is like this, form is empty by the nature of form" to "All-knowing wisdom is empty by the nature of all-knowing wisdom," it explains the reason why all dharmas are without substance. In the case of all dharmas being without substance,
