Chapter Thirty-Nine: Establishing the Training of Bodhicitta. Chapter Thirty-Nine: Establishing the Training of Bodhicitta. Thereafter, the sons of the gods of the desire realm, the form realm, and the form-possessing realm, carrying divine sandalwood powder, divine utpala flowers, lotuses, kumuda, and many pundarika, scattered them upon the Blessed One Ganavada, saying, "The Blessed One has declared that all dharmas, such as form, are non-different in nature from all-knowingness, and are one; the suchness of all dharmas, such as form, and the suchness of all-knowingness are the same suchness, non-dual and non-different." Having understood the meaning of this teaching, the sons of the gods were delighted by the exposition of such profound meaning. After making offerings to the Blessed One with divine offerings, the Blessed One repeated the words previously spoken, and said, "This profound Prajnaparamita is difficult to see and should be understood by the wise, but it is difficult for all the world to believe." The Blessed One thus declared that this profound Prajnaparamita of the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Buddhas, says, "Form itself is all-knowingness, and all-knowingness is form." And so on, until "The unshared dharmas of the Buddha are all-knowingness, and all-knowingness is the unshared dharmas of the Buddha." Above, the Blessed One declared that all dharmas are of one taste in the nature of all-knowingness, and the sons of the gods repeated and requested this. This Prajnaparamita, which reveals such profound meaning, is profound and difficult to see, and should be understood by the wise, but it is difficult for all the world to believe. This concluding statement is connected to what follows. What is the suchness of form, and what is the suchness of all-knowingness? That is...

From "Suchness is one, not two and not made two," to the teaching that "Whatever is the suchness of the Buddha, and whatever is the suchness of all-knowingness, that is suchness is one, not two and not made two," it means: What is the suchness of all phenomena such as form mentioned above, and what is the suchness of all-knowingness? Those, in the nature of suchness, are of the same taste and cannot be divided. The sons of the gods repeated and requested the words spoken by the Blessed One. For example, the Prajnaparamita of the enlightenment wisdom of the Tathagatas is profound and difficult to see, difficult to understand, cannot be investigated, is not the object of speculation, is peaceful and subtle, refined, and can be understood by the wise with wisdom. It is difficult for all the world to believe. From "It is difficult for all the world to believe," it means: Thus, this Prajnaparamita, which shows that all phenomena are of the same taste in suchness in the ultimate truth, is the unsurpassed enlightenment of the Tathagatas. It is profound and difficult to see, and it is the object of the wise, not the object of ordinary beings. The meanings of the words profound, difficult to see, difficult to understand, cannot be investigated, not the object of speculation, peaceful, subtle, and refined have already been explained. The Blessed One said to the sons of the gods in the desire realm and the form realm: Sons of the gods, it is so. It is so, it is so. Sons of the gods, form itself is all-knowingness, and all-knowingness itself is form. From "Form itself is all-knowingness, and all-knowingness itself is form," to "The unmixed Dharma of the Buddha is all-knowingness, and all-knowingness itself is all the unmixed Dharmas of the Buddha," it means: The explanation that all phenomena such as form mentioned above by the sons of the gods, and all-knowingness, have the same nature in the ultimate truth, this Prajnaparamita is profound and difficult to see, and it can be understood by the wise.

Those words and meanings that pleaded, "It is not the realm of activity for all the world," the Blessed One repeated, and bestowed the teaching, "That is true." From "Whatever is the Suchness of Form, and whatever is the Suchness of Omniscience, that is the one Suchness, non-dual and indivisible," up to "Whatever is the Suchness of the Buddha, and whatever is the Suchness of Omniscience, that is the one Suchness, non-dual and indivisible," also, because the sons of the gods previously said that the Suchness of Form and so on, and whatever is the Suchness of Omniscience, those Suchnesses are the same taste in Suchness, in order to show that they are not different, this profound and difficult to see Prajnaparamita is to be known by the wise, it is not the realm of activity for all sentient beings, the Blessed One repeated the words and meanings that were spoken, and bestowed the teaching, "That is true." Sons of the gods, because they saw the power of the meaning, the Tathagata focused on small deeds, and did not focus on teaching the Dharma, this is because, previously, after the Tathagata attained perfect enlightenment, without turning the wheel of Dharma, he remained silent, also because he thought that such a profound meaning is the realm of activity for the Tathagata alone, it is not the realm of activity for all sentient beings, considering such a meaning, the reason why the Blessed One remained without turning the wheel of Dharma. Why is that? Like this, look like this, the Dharma of enlightenment of the Tathagatas is profound and difficult to see, difficult to understand, inconceivable and not the realm of speculation, peaceful and subtle, peaceful, virtuous, to be known by the wise, difficult for all the world to believe. That is, no one has attained perfect enlightenment, never has perfect enlightenment been attained, nowhere has perfect enlightenment been attained, for whom there is no dualistic pervasive wandering, that is the profound nature of all dharmas. This is saying that when the Blessed One first attained perfect enlightenment, the reason for remaining without turning the wheel of Dharma.
