The phrase "the Tathagata's Tathagata's dharmas" means that the first mention of "Tathagata's" refers to the dharmas that the Tathagata has realized and taught. The latter phrase, "these dharmas of the Tathagata," refers to the dharmas attained by the Tathagata himself through merit, namely the Buddha himself, the Tathagata himself, the self-born himself, and the all-knowing himself, referring to those mentioned earlier. The phrase "those dharmas of the Tathagata are inconceivable because they are free from thought" means that even the very thought of the mind is non-existent in those dharmas of the Buddha, thus showing that because they are free from thought in this way, they are inconceivable. The phrase "because they are free from measurement, they are immeasurable" means that even the very conceptualization of measurement is non-existent in those dharmas, so they are immeasurable, that is its meaning. The phrase "because they are free from gauging, they are unmeasurable" means that even the very act of gauging and determining by means of valid cognition such as direct perception and inference is non-existent, thus showing that they are unmeasurable. The phrase "because they are free from equality and inequality, they are unequal and equal" means that in ultimate truth, all dharmas are without inherent existence, therefore they transcend the expression of so-called equality and inequality, so they are said to be unequal and equal. Here, the unequal and equal refer to the very nature of emptiness of the Tathagata himself, and being equal to that is to be transformed into the nature of emptiness, that is its meaning. Subhuti, for that reason, all dharmas are inconceivable, immeasurable, unmeasurable, unequal and equal. That is to say, just as the Buddha himself, the Tathagata himself, the self-born himself, the all-knowing himself, those dharmas of the Tathagata are inconceivable, immeasurable, unmeasurable, unequal and equal, so too, all dharmas such as form are also inconceivable, immeasurable, unmeasurable, unequal and equal, that is what is being shown. Subhuti, these dharmas of the Tathagata, because they completely transcend thought, therefore.

Beginning with "inconceivable," because it completely transcends equality and inequality, up to "unequal and equal," it is explaining the meaning of inconceivable and so on mentioned above with other categories of words. Because it is separated from thought, the word and meaning of "inconceivable" is used, and because it completely transcends thought, the word "inconceivable" is used to indicate that some of the Dharma-listening retinue can easily understand it, so it is indicated in this way. Both the mind and what is to be thought are without substance in the ultimate truth, so it is called inconceivable. Similarly, it should also be applied to immeasurable, inestimable, unequal, and equal. Subhuti, saying the word "inconceivable," from "it is an inconceivable word" to "unequal and equal is a word without equality," in this way, all dharmas completely transcend thought and so on, and one wonders what can be said about the words inconceivable and so on? In order to dispel the doubts of some Bodhisattvas in the retinue, saying inconceivable and so on is only conventionally, as a mere term of the world, nominally established as a word, but it is not so in the ultimate truth. Subhuti, saying "inconceivable" is because space is inconceivable, from "because space is inconceivable" to "because space is unequal and without equality," this shows an example of nominally establishing words from non-entities. For example, for space, saying inconceivable and so on, it is saying that the non-substantial space is a word of inconceivable and so on. Subhuti, the Tathagata's Tathagata, those Tathagata's dharmas are inconceivable, immeasurable, inestimable, unequal, and equal. These are what the world, including gods, humans, and asuras, cannot think or measure. Therefore, the Buddhas are immeasurable. The Buddhas' dharmas are immeasurable. All dharmas are inconceivable, immeasurable, inestimable, unequal, and equal, which is a summary of the meaning mentioned above.
