Because it is the cause of such merits. It is called abiding for the sake of inequality and equality: Relying on this Prajñāpāramitā, the Blessed One attained the unsurpassed Bodhi. Since there is no one equal to him, let alone surpassing him, because this Prajñāpāramitā is the cause of making those who are not equal to such unsurpassed Bodhi equal. Therefore, this Prajñāpāramitā is said to abide for the sake of inequality and equality. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is just so. It is just so, etc., until Subhuti, the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Samyaksaṃbuddhas are equal by equality, since there is no one equal, let alone surpassing, Subhuti, by those names, the Prajñāpāramitā is the cause of the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Samyaksaṃbuddhas' inequality and equality, etc. Between them, this Prajñāpāramitā is of great meaning, inconceivable meaning, immeasurable meaning, unmeasurable meaning, and accomplishes the meaning of inequality and equality. As the meaning briefly mentioned above, the Blessed One himself separately and in detail explained it, and the respective meanings have been explained before. Question: Blessed One, is the Buddha himself, the Tathāgata himself, the self-born himself, and the all-knowing himself also inconceivable, immeasurable, unmeasurable, and unequal and equal? This is because Subhuti asked in order to elaborate that all dharmas are also inconceivable, immeasurable, unmeasurable, and unequal and equal. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is just so. It is just so, etc., until Subhuti, the all-knowing himself is also inconceivable, immeasurable, unmeasurable, and is unequal and equal. The name Buddha, the name Tathāgata, the name self-born, and the name all-knowing are merely inconceivable, immeasurable, unmeasurable.

There is none. Not only unequal and equal, but all phenomena from form onwards up to omniscience are devoid of substance in the ultimate sense, so they are not objects of thought, measurement, or equality, which is what is being shown. Subhuti, all phenomena are also inconceivable, immeasurable, unequal and equal, which is a concise explanation of the meaning explained above. In short, all phenomena of the world, transcendence, conditioned, unconditioned, defiled, and undefiled are devoid of substance in the ultimate sense, so there is no thought, measurement, or equality, which is what is being shown. Subhuti, the nature of all phenomena is such that the mind does not focus on it. Phenomena arising from the mind are also not focused on, which means that, as explained above, all phenomena such as form are devoid of substance, so they do not become objects of the mind such as thought and measurement. The nature of all those phenomena, emptiness, becomes an object of thought and measurement, and some may think that what arises from the mind is something that can be focused on. In order to dispel such thoughts, the nature of all phenomena is only expressed in conventional terms, but in the ultimate sense it is not an object of focus for the mind and what arises from the mind, which is what is being shown. Subhuti, form is inconceivable, immeasurable, and immeasurable, and unequal and equal are also not focused on. From Subhuti, omniscience is inconceivable, immeasurable, and immeasurable, and unequal and equal are also not focused on, all phenomena such as form are thought, measured, and immeasurable, unequal and equal. It is said that unequal and equal things may give rise to the idea that some things exist. In order to dispel such thoughts, unequal and equal are only shown in conventional terms, but in the ultimate sense they are not focused on, which is what is being shown. Asked, Blessed One, why is form inconceivable and immeasurable?
