That there is no dharma to be abandoned, no dharma to be generated, and no dharma to be ceased, this is the non-discriminating prajñāpāramitā. For it, there is neither the dharma of nirvāṇa to be accepted, nor the discriminating thought of the dharma of saṃsāra to be abandoned. There is neither the noble path to be cultivated, nor the discriminating thought that the afflictive dharmas, which are contrary to the noble path, need to be ceased. This is what is to be explained. Kauśika, those sons or daughters of good family who explain it in this way are not showing the image of the prajñāpāramitā. So-called explaining in the way mentioned above that all dharmas have no taking or abandoning, this is explaining the true meaning of the prajñāpāramitā, and is not showing the image of the prajñāpāramitā. This is what is to be explained. Kauśika, therefore, sons or daughters of good family should explain the meaning of the prajñāpāramitā in this way. Kauśika, the accumulation of merit of those sons or daughters of good family who explain it in this way will increase greatly, but the former sons or daughters of good family will not. So-called explaining the meaning of the prajñāpāramitā truthfully in this way, without clinging to characteristics and without focusing on them, merit will increase. If one clings to characteristics, focuses on them, and explains the image as mentioned above for the sake of the prajñāpāramitā, merit will not increase greatly. This is its meaning. Kauśika, furthermore, if there are as many sentient beings in Jambudvīpa as there are, and a certain son or daughter of good family places them in the fruit of stream-entry, up to, why is that? Kauśika, because from this prajñāpāramitā, solitary buddhas will arise. What is said in between is that there are as many sentient beings in Jambudvīpa as there are, as well as the four continents, a thousand worlds, two thousand worlds, three thousand great thousand worlds, and the ten directions, each direction having worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. All of these are constant.

Entering the stream, once returning, not returning, Arhat, and the merit of those established in self-enlightenment, also extensively show others and cause them to practice the meaning and words of this Prajnaparamita, which shows the benefit of great merit. Kausika, furthermore, however many sentient beings there are in Jambudvipa, some of those sons or daughters of good family, after having truly urged them towards unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, from there onwards. Kausika, in each of the ten directions, there are worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges. What is the reason for that? Kausika, because from this arise the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who generate the first mind. Up to here, however many sentient beings there are in Jambudvipa, the four continents, the thousand worlds, the two thousand worlds, the three thousand great thousand worlds, and in each of the ten directions, there are sentient beings in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, the merit of urging all those sentient beings to attain unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, also explaining the Prajnaparamita, and showing it with instructions, thereby diligently causing them to practice, this is showing with reason that merit greatly increases. That reason is, what is the reason for that? Kausika, because from this arise the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who generate the first mind. Having urged whoever, the Bodhisattva, to attain unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, generating the first mind of enlightenment, because the Bodhisattvas who have attained the first Bodhisattva ground also arise from this Prajnaparamita, equality, thought, and meditation. Urging those who have attained unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, if one extensively shows this Prajnaparamita to others and causes them to practice it, the merit is very great, this is what is shown. Kausika, furthermore, however many sentient beings there are in Jambudvipa, those of good family.

Or a son of a lineage, or a daughter of a lineage, from "establishing in the ground of non-retrogression" to "in each of the ten directions, worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River," and so on. What is the reason for this? Kausika, because what arises from the Prajnaparamita is the ground of non-retrogression for the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Up to this point, it refers to all sentient beings in Jambudvipa, as well as the four continents, a thousand worlds, two thousand worlds, three thousand great thousand worlds, and even in each of the ten directions, all sentient beings in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. Even with the merit of establishing them in the ground of non-retrogression, if one extensively teaches others the meaning and words of this Prajnaparamita and causes them to practice it, it shows the great benefit of that merit. Kausika, furthermore, from "all sentient beings in Jambudvipa have truly entered into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment" to Kausika, "in each of the ten directions, worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River," and so on. When you obtain the dharmas of omniscience, then you will realize unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment and become a Buddha. If one advises in this way, then the merit of that son or daughter of a lineage will greatly increase. Up to this point, it refers to all sentient beings in Jambudvipa, as well as the worlds of the four continents, a thousand worlds, two thousand worlds, three thousand great thousand worlds, and even in each of the ten directions, all sentient beings in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River.
