This is to teach sentient beings not to do evil to the Dharma through the three doors of body, speech, and mind. Furthermore, from the question of the venerable Subhuti to the Blessed One, "How," to "will experience immeasurable, countless, and inconceivable suffering and displeasure," even merely slandering and criticizing the profound Dharma with the act of speech will become a criticism of the Three Jewels. If because of this action, one will experience great suffering in the three lower realms, then what need is there to say if one does evil to the Dharma through the three doors of body, speech, and mind? Therefore, one should strictly restrain the three actions of body, speech, and mind. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, how many ways do foolish beings abandon this Prajnaparamita, how many ways will they abandon this profound Prajnaparamita? From here to, Subhuti, those foolish beings will abandon this profound Prajnaparamita in these four ways, this is to reveal the four causes of criticism and slander due to not believing and not revering the profound Prajnaparamita. It is revealed in order to recognize these causes and to prevent and completely abandon them. Asked: Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita is difficult to believe for those who have little diligence, do not possess virtuous roots, and are in the company of evil friends. And so on, this shows that the profound Prajnaparamita is not the object of practice for sentient beings with little merit and who are not vessels. That is to say, for those who diligently practice the Mahayana Dharma, cultivate virtuous roots, accumulate merit and resources, and rely on virtuous spiritual friends, they will believe and revere this profound Prajnaparamita. Asked: Blessed One, how profound is this Prajnaparamita that is so difficult to believe? This is to explain that all dharmas are neither bound nor liberated, are pure, are infinite, and are neither attached nor...

To differentiate the profound through explanation, a request was made. The Blessed One declared: Subhuti, form is neither bound nor liberated. From "Subhuti, the absence of inherent existence in all aspects of omniscience is indeed all aspects of omniscience" in between, it is the profound teaching of the Prajnaparamita from the perspective of all phenomena being neither bound nor liberated. Among these, form is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, the absence of inherent existence in form is form itself. This is because, in terms of ultimate truth, due to the absence of inherent existence in the imputational form, even when not completely purified, there is no being bound by actions and afflictions, etc.; and even when completely purified, there is no liberation from those. Thus, understanding emptiness of inherent existence and complete purity is called Prajnaparamita. Such Prajnaparamita cannot be realized by those with attachment to signs and those who grasp at characteristics, because it is unfathomable, hence it is taught as profound. Just as the explanation was made for form, the same should be applied to all phenomena up to all aspects of omniscience. Subhuti, form is the past limit, neither bound nor liberated. From "Subhuti, the nature of the present arising as non-entity is indeed all aspects of omniscience" in between, it is taught in conjunction with the three times to clarify that the teaching of all phenomena being neither bound nor liberated. Some who grasp at characteristics believe that all phenomena such as form have the nature of having completed their function in the past, the nature of performing their function in the present, and the nature of becoming functional in the future. To refute this view, in terms of ultimate truth, form itself is also the nature of non-entity, and the times called past, future, and present are merely imputed from the destruction, non-arising, and existence of form itself. Apart from that, there is no independent past limit, future limit, and present arising entity. Therefore, all three times—past, present, and future—are empty of inherent existence, and in suchness, they are of one taste, the immutable perfection.
