If one knows the suchness of all dharmas, one will understand the essence and elaboration of all dharmas, it is said. In order to distinguish the occasion for explaining in detail what the suchness of those dharmas is, Subhuti asked. The Blessed One said: Suchness, wherein birth is not observed, cessation is not observed, and change from abiding is not observed, this is the suchness of form. To this, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should train, and so on. Therefore, it shows what the suchness of all dharmas such as form is, that is, dharmas such as form are empty of inherent existence in ultimate truth and completely pure, therefore there is no birth and cessation, and no change from abiding. The suchness of form and so on is like this, and what Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should train in is also this, thus it is shown. If one knows the true limit, one will understand the essence and elaboration of all dharmas, that is, if one understands the unconditioned nature called the true limit, in the manner of conventional truth and ultimate truth, one will understand the essence and elaboration of all dharmas, thus it is shown. Asked: Blessed One, what is the true limit? This is because some Shravakas and others regard the true limit as real and want to realize it directly. What is that like? Or is it something else? Thus it was asked. The Blessed One said: Limitlessness is the true limit, this is to say, it is not like the true limit seen by Shravakas and others, which is substantial, but all dharmas are pure in their own nature, without the two extremes of birth and cessation, that is the true limit, if one understands such a true meaning, one will understand the essence and elaboration of all dharmas, thus it is shown. If one understands the Dharmadhatu, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas will understand the essence and elaboration of all dharmas, that is, if one understands the Dharmadhatu in the manner of ultimate truth and conventional truth, all dharmas are contained within the Dharmadhatu, therefore understanding in the manner of ultimate truth allows one to understand the essence. One will understand in the manner of conventional truth, thus it is shown. Asked: Blessed One, what is the Dharmadhatu? This is

According to the Hinayana scriptures, the seventh substance is also called the realm of Dharma. The cause or place where all dharmas arise and originate is also called the realm. Holding one's own characteristics is also called the realm. Here, it is asked, what is meant by the realm of Dharma? The Blessed One said: The absence of a realm is the realm of Dharma. This means that the realm of Dharma mentioned above in the Hinayana scriptures refers to the absence of entities such as the three types mentioned above, which is called the realm of Dharma. In the realm of Dharma, cessation and complete cessation are not visible. This means that the realm of Dharma is unchanging and completely established, so there is no cessation or change into something else. A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who understands the realm of Dharma in this way will understand the outline and details of all dharmas. This is a summary of the meaning mentioned above. As mentioned above, in the ultimate truth, if one understands that all dharmas have the same taste in the realm of Dharma, one understands the outline of all dharmas. In the relative truth, one should not be attached to that dharma, and understanding the individual characteristics of all dharmas is understanding them in detail. It is asked, Blessed One, how can one understand the outline and details of all dharmas? This is asked in order to benefit those beings who are not satisfied with the brief explanation of the outline and details of all dharmas given above. The Blessed One said: In any case, one should understand that all dharmas are neither connected nor unconnected. This means that if all dharmas were substantial, they would be interconnected. However, all dharmas are empty by nature and have no substance, so they are not connected to anything. Therefore, one should understand that all dharmas are neither connected nor unconnected. It is asked, Blessed One, what are those dharmas that are neither connected nor unconnected? This is asked in order to explain in detail the all dharmas mentioned above in general, by mentioning them one by one by name. The Blessed One said: Form is neither connected nor unconnected, and so on. Form, etc.
