That which is called "up to here" refers to dedicating with attachment and characteristics in this way, which becomes a fault, and is explained by taking the example of eating poisonous food. Furthermore, son of good family, from the time the Buddhas, the Bhagavat of the past, future, and present, first generated the mind, up to "dedicating in that way becomes slandering the Tathagata, and is not speaking as the Tathagata spoke, nor is it speaking according to the Dharma," refers to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat of the three times, regarding the perfection of wisdom and so on, all-knowingness, and the nature of uncommonness, up to constantly abiding in equanimity, regarding the roots of virtue practiced and meditated upon in the purified dharmas, if one grasps at characteristics and dedicates with attachment, I also rejoice and dedicate, and also encourage others to rejoice and dedicate in this way, and the inexhaustible roots of virtue of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and if one grasps at the characteristics of whatever roots of virtue are accumulated by individual beings, and encourages dedication with attachment, like eating poisonous food, dedication becomes faulty, and it is shown that it will contradict the teachings of the Tathagata. Among them, how should a son or daughter of good family of the Bodhisattva vehicle rejoice in the roots of virtue of the Buddhas of the past, future, and present? Up to "those roots of virtue will be dedicated to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment," refers to dedicating the roots of virtue with attachment and characteristics in the manner described above becomes a fault. Therefore, in the realms of the ten directions, how should one rejoice and dedicate to whatever roots of virtue are accumulated by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat who abide in the three times? How can those roots of virtue be perfected into unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment?

It should be contemplated and vowed to dedicate all roots of virtue to perfect enlightenment, and should not be dedicated in a form with characteristics. Thus it is proclaimed. The venerable Subhuti said: Maitreya, when a son or daughter of a noble family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle practices prajnaparamita, wishing not to slander the Tathagata, should dedicate in this way, and even the dedication of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices in this way will become non-toxic and reach the ultimate of nectar. This is to explain the means of making the dedication of roots of virtue completely pure. The means is that the Tathagatas, etc., have realized that the roots of virtue of unsurpassed wisdom are empty in nature in the ultimate sense, and in the conventional sense, they dedicate without attachment to them by skillful means. Likewise, I also dedicate. If the dedication is made by taking the Tathagata as the standard, the dedication will be completely pure. Thus it is proclaimed. Among them, what is the nature of those roots of virtue? What is the self-nature? What is the characteristic? Among them, "What is the self-nature" is a different name for "What is the characteristic." In the ultimate sense, they have no self-nature, but in the conventional sense, one should understand how to dedicate in order to obtain the fruit. It should be connected with "understand." "The Dharma nature exists by what, thus" means that in the ultimate sense, it is the Dharma nature of emptiness, but in the conventional sense, one rejoices in the Dharma nature that has how to dedicate in order to obtain the fruit. It should be connected with "rejoice." In "The dedication will become non-toxic and reach the ultimate of nectar," nectar refers to nirvana. If the dedication is made in this way, the dedication is faultless, so nirvana will be attained, which is the meaning of this. Also, when a son or daughter of a noble family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle practices prajnaparamita, One should dedicate all the roots of virtue in this way, and even Solitary Buddhas are not included. Their roots of virtue

Those are also not completely included. Whatever is not included is not the past, not the future, and not the present. Until the point where form and so on constantly remain in a state of equanimity, all phenomena are, in ultimate truth, without substance, therefore they do not exist anywhere in the three realms, nor are they included in any of the three times. Similarly, the dedication and the unsurpassed Bodhi to which one dedicates, as well as the roots of virtue to be dedicated, and the Buddhas, Bhagavat, who performed the roots of virtue, as well as the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, those, too, in ultimate truth, do not exist anywhere in the three realms, nor are they included in any of the three times, it should be known. If one dedicates in this way, the dedication is completely pure, thus it is taught. If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, from "if one knows in this way, the dedication of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is without poison, and will become the ultimate of nectar" until the point where form and so on constantly remain in a state of equanimity, all those phenomena, as mentioned above, are, in ultimate truth, empty of inherent existence, therefore they do not exist anywhere in the three realms, nor are they included in any of the three times. The reasons why all those cannot be dedicated in the form of characteristics or as objects of focus are explained in detail. Why is that? Because there is no inherent existence in them, no inherent existence, they do not exist anywhere in the three realms, nor are they included in any of the three times, there is no individual self-nature in them, thus it is taught. Whatever has no inherent existence is without substance, that is to say, in that way, without self-nature, there is also no general characteristic in ultimate truth, because it is not established as a real entity. The non-existent cannot be dedicated by the non-existent, meaning that just as the non-existent is to be dedicated, so too, the dedicator is also non-existent, because there is nothing, so nothing cannot be dedicated, thus it is taught. Everything should be combined in the same way. Sons or daughters of the Bodhisattva lineage, in the form of characteristics or as objects of focus, completely
