From "Maitreya, if" to "views will not be reversed," it is taught that the dedication of a newly entered Mahayana Bodhisattva is without fault, that is, in the conventional sense, thinking of and understanding the Buddhas, Shravakas, roots of virtue, and the minds of dedication, but in the ultimate sense, understanding that all these things are without inherent existence. Therefore, the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who perform virtuous deeds, the noble Shravakas, and the minds of the self who perform the roots of virtue and dedication, without the notion of viewing as real and grasping at characteristics, dedicating with skillful means in the conventional sense, the notions, minds, and views will not be reversed, this is what is to be expressed. If the Bodhisattva Mahasattva thinks of and grasps at the characteristics of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, and the Shravaka assembly, and those roots of virtue, from "thinking of and grasping at characteristics" to "views will be reversed," it is said that the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who perform virtuous deeds, the noble Shravakas, and the minds of the self who perform the roots of virtue and vast dedication, do not understand the absence of inherent existence in the ultimate sense, and if they dedicate with the notion of grasping at characteristics, the notions, minds, and views will be reversed, this is what is to be expressed. If the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with what mind does he think of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, and the Shravaka assembly, and those roots of virtue, from "also truly thinking of the mind that thinks" to "thus the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should dedicate the roots of virtue," it is said that for the mind that thinks of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, the noble Shravakas, and the roots of virtue, and the mind of dedication, and the unsurpassed Bodhi to which one dedicates, one should also understand that in the ultimate sense they are emptiness and without inherent existence, this is to explain that one should dedicate in the conventional sense. "The nature of the mind itself is also thus" means that the nature of the mind of dedication is also emptiness and without inherent existence. For the Dharma to which one dedicates, the nature of that Dharma is also thus.

This shows that dedicating the earth completely to unsurpassed enlightenment, that enlightenment is also the nature of non-existence. If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, from the initial arising of the mind of the Buddhas, Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present, until "This is the unsurpassed dedication of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva," all the roots of virtue that the Buddhas, Bhagavat, of the three times have done since first generating the mind of enlightenment, and all the roots of virtue that the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas have done, and all the roots of virtue that ordinary beings belonging to the classes of gods and humans, etc., have generated for those noble ones, gathering all those roots of virtue into one place, rejoicing with the supreme and unsurpassed rejoicing, and thus dedicating the merit of rejoicing to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, in the ultimate sense, the noble ones who perform good deeds, and the ordinary beings, and the roots of virtue, and the mind of rejoicing, and the mind of dedication, and the Dharma of enlightenment dedicated above, all those are exhausted and cease, and are without substance, and should be known to be empty by nature. In the conventional sense, dedicating with skillful means becomes an unsurpassed dedication. This shows that with Dharma,

Knowing that all phenomena, up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha such as the special, are empty, from the phrase "not corresponding to the nature of phenomena," if one dedicates in the conventional sense, then this is a flawless and pure dedication. If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva manifests and engages in meritorious activities with rejoicing, from the phrase "knowing that this manifestation and engagement in meritorious activities with rejoicing is also empty," up to the phrase "this is the Prajnaparamita of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva," it is said that in the ultimate sense, manifesting and engaging in meritorious activities with rejoicing, one also knows its nature to be empty. Knowing that the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, as well as the roots of virtue to be dedicated, as well as the mind of dedication, as well as the Bodhi to which one dedicates, they are also empty in their own nature. From the Prajnaparamita up to all the phenomena between the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, one also knows that their nature is empty and acts accordingly. If one dedicates in the conventional sense, then this is a dedication that does not contradict the Prajnaparamita. Furthermore, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva dedicates the roots of virtue of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have passed into complete Nirvana together with the Sangha of Hearers, one should dedicate in this way, from the phrase "one should dedicate in this way" up to the phrase "views will not be reversed," it is said that when the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have passed into complete Nirvana together with the Sangha of Hearers, rejoice in their roots of virtue and dedicate them, just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have passed into complete Nirvana together with the Sangha of Hearers, not abiding manifestly and not appearing as real, in the same way, knowing that those roots of virtue, as well as the dedication, as well as the mind of dedication, are also like passing into Nirvana, without reality in the ultimate sense, and then in the conventional sense.
