From "Can this name answer?" to "For what is the Suchness of consciousness, there is no power to answer," this is Bodhisattva Maitreya relying on the ultimate truth, answering the question of whether there is a result of practicing the six perfections in a dream and completely dedicating its roots of virtue. In the ultimate truth, all dharmas are empty of inherent existence, so both the person and the dharma are without substance. Since the person is without substance, there is no power to answer even for the name called "Maitreya." Since the dharma is without substance, there is no power to answer even for the five aggregates such as form, and their emptiness, and their Suchness. Then, what need is there to mention that there is no result of practicing the six perfections in a dream? This is the meaning. "I have not truly seen who answers, who answers, and the dharma to whom the answer is given," is a brief summary of the above. Who answers refers to the person who answers. Who answers refers to the words and letters that answer. Who answers refers to the thing or meaning that answers. To whom the answer is given refers to the person who seeks and asks questions. Since all these dharmas are empty of inherent existence in the ultimate truth, if I have not truly seen, then who will answer whom, what, and to whom? What is the meaning of this? "I have not truly seen who is prophesied to unexcelled perfect enlightenment, who prophesies, and the dharma to whom the prophecy is given," this is what Subhuti praised Bodhisattva Maitreya above, saying, "This is prophesied to unexcelled perfect enlightenment, ask him," which also shows that there is no substance in the ultimate truth. Who is prophesied refers to the Blessed One himself who prophesies. Who prophesies refers to the cause or merit suitable for prophecy that prophesies. To whom the prophecy is given refers to Bodhisattva Maitreya.

It is said to the Bodhisattva Maitreya himself. It also shows that those are without substance in the ultimate sense. All those dharmas are non-dual and cannot be made into two, which means that all the above-mentioned dharmas such as answering and prophesying are without substance in the ultimate sense, showing that they are of the same taste in emptiness. Sharadvatiputra said: As you said, have you realized those dharmas? This is to ask those who want to realize the Shravakas and other form-possessors, the non-separation of the two, the tranquil ones, in order to show that they cannot be realized. Maitreya said: As you said, I have not realized those dharmas. This is because in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are empty in nature, and the dharma nature of dharmas is non-dual, which is only nominally established in the mundane, but in the ultimate sense, both the realizers and the realized are of the same taste in emptiness, so it shows that there is no realization. From "Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra thought" to "This is to show acting without object," Bodhisattva Maitreya showed the profound meaning that all dharmas are non-dual and cannot be realized, and Shariputra rejoiced and praised Maitreya, saying that only those with profound wisdom who have practiced the six perfections for a long time and are proficient in the meaning of non-object can expound such profound dharmas, not those with small roots of virtue and wisdom with objects. After that, the Blessed One said to the venerable Sharadvatiputra: Sharadvatiputra, what do you think? By what dharma are you called an Arhat, have you truly seen those dharmas? This is said to dispel the conceptual thoughts of the Shravaka Arhats who think, "I have exhausted the outflows, I have done what has to be done, I have abandoned the burden, I have attained the Arhat fruit," etc. The answer is: Blessed One, it is not so.

Having destroyed the enemies of afflictions in the three realms, it is only the mere abandonment that is called an Arhat, but in reality, there is no such thing as an Arhat, so it was reported. The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, it is indeed so. From "I will undoubtedly attain the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment" to "I think," this passage explains that the previous statement by Subhuti that there is no such thing as an Arhat is true. Similarly, prediction is also non-existent in ultimate truth. A Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom also does not have the notion of grasping such characteristics in ultimate truth, but in conventional truth, there is no doubt that they will attain the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, and they will not be frightened by emptiness. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva perfect the six perfections to completion and become close to omniscience? This is because the Blessed One previously predicted in ultimate truth that all phenomena are empty of inherent existence, and does not think or discriminate that the Dharma of attaining unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment is "this," but in conventional truth, there is no doubt or hesitation that they will attain unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, and they will surely attain unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. Although they attain enlightenment in this way, they cannot accomplish it without perfecting the six perfections to completion and without accumulating the accumulations of merit and wisdom. So how can they perfect the six perfections to completion? How can they accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom and become close to omniscience? This is asking how to perfect the six perfections to completion in conventional truth. Thus he reported.
