Merely the sole essence, realizing the essence of emptiness, is taught as, "Subhuti, furthermore," and so on. Such as "the mind is invisible," and so on, because mind is mind, this is merely a conceptual designation, but it does not exist by its own nature. Therefore, "because it does not exist" means because it has not become existent. "Because it has not arisen" means because it has not been produced by causes and conditions. "Because it is not completely established" means because it is untrue like an illusory elephant. Precisely because of this, it is not visible to the eyes of those who have merely seen Suchness. "For all" refers to the three things that have been mentioned. It is said that the giving of Dharma and Buddhas is included within the eye of wisdom itself. Similarly, in order to truly show that all the actions of the minds of all sentient beings are the nature of emptiness, the Tathagatas and the world's preliminary signs, namely, obtaining the samadhi of heat, peak, and forbearance, together with insight. The lineage ground refers to the time when the five powers are cultivated on the ground of practice with aspiration. Because the peak of worldly dharma is attained, it becomes the lineage of the noble ones, so it is called the lineage ground. The eighth ground refers to counting upwards from the Arhat, the number of times of entering the fruit of stream-enterer falls on the eighth, so the eighth ground of entering the fruit of stream-enterer is called the eighth ground. The ground of seeing refers to seeing the transcendental dharma after obtaining the fruit of stream-enterer, and abiding on the path of seeing, so it is called the ground of seeing. The ground of attenuation refers to abiding on the ground of once-returner, making the desire and hatred of the desire realm thin, so the ground of once-returner is called the ground of attenuation. The ground of detachment from desire refers to abiding on the ground of no-returner, completely abandoning desire and hatred, so the ground of no-returner is called the ground of detachment from desire. The ground of having done what was to be done refers to the time when one becomes an Arhat, abandoning all the afflictions of the three realms, having done what was to be done, having laid down the burden, and from then on, the five aggregates.

Therefore, in order to know that one does not accept others, the ground of the Arhat is called the ground of realization. The term "Pratyekabuddha" refers to a person of the Lesser Vehicle who, with sharp wisdom, realizes the meaning of dependent origination without being taught by others, and this is called the ground of the Pratyekabuddha. The ground of the Bodhisattva refers to the ten grounds of the Bodhisattva. The ground of the Buddha refers to the ground of the Buddha, called "Samantaprabha," which possesses qualities such as the mirror-like wisdom, the wisdom of equality, the wisdom of discernment, and the wisdom of accomplishing activities. Among these, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, who studies on the ten grounds, does not immediately realize the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment from the first generation of the mind, and up to the point where the Bhagavan Bodhisattva Mahasattva realizes the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, this is the profound meaning of dependent origination. The Bhagavan concluded and taught the above meaning. Subhuti also repeated these words and meanings and requested, "Such dependent origination is profound because those who are not skilled in means and have characteristics cannot realize it." The Bhagavan said, "Subhuti, what do you think? Does a mind that has ceased arise again?" etc., this was taught in order to show that in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are by nature in nirvana. "Does a mind that has ceased arise again?" means that in the ultimate sense, the mind is without substance and is by nature in nirvana, so it will not become something substantial. "Is the mind that arises subject to cessation?" means that even the mind that arises in conventional truth is ultimately without substance. "Will that which is subject to cessation cease?" means that in the ultimate sense, there is no substance, and it is by nature in nirvana, so there will be no further cessation. "Will suchness abide as it is?"
