Moreover, by the phrase "dedicating as it is to the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment," in the manner described above, in terms of ultimate truth, all phenomena are empty of inherent existence. Although it is inexpressible, in terms of conventional truth, when practicing the perfection of wisdom with skillful means, the six perfections, in terms of ultimate truth, are also without substance. Therefore, one should understand that these are merely names, and thus one will not generate the pride of increasing through the six perfections. In terms of conventional truth, if one dedicates those roots of virtue to the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment with skillful means, then one will manifestly attain the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. The phrase "dedicating as it is to the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment" indicates the complete purity of dedication, meaning dedicating without focusing on objects and without attachment. The question, "Venerable Lord, what is the nature of unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment?" indicates that the thusness of all phenomena and the unsurpassed enlightenment are not different in terms of ultimate nature. It was asked to distinguish the sections when teaching their oneness. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, whatever is the thusness of all phenomena, that is the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. This teaches that realizing the emptiness of the nature of all phenomena is the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, and there is no separate unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment apart from it. Subhuti asked: Venerable Lord, what is the thusness of which phenomena is the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment? The answer is that the previous brief explanation of whatever is the thusness of all phenomena is the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. Subhuti asked in order to distinguish the sections for explaining in detail to the retinue what all phenomena are. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, whatever is the thusness of form, that is the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, and so on.

The suchness of all omniscience is the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Even the suchness of nirvana is the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. In between these, whatever is called all phenomena, that is, the nature of all omniscience such as form, etc., and the phenomena mentioned up to nirvana, are listed one by one. The emptiness of the nature of all these phenomena is suchness, which is the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Apart from that, there is no such thing as the so-called unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. This is what is shown. The saying "It has no increase, nor does it have any decrease" means that the suchness of all phenomena and the non-different unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment are naturally completely pure and unchanging, so they are not increased by the aspect of purification or decreased by the aspect of affliction. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, inseparable from the Perfection of Wisdom, constantly and continuously practices in this way, and does not truly see any increase or decrease in any phenomena. This means that a Bodhisattva, skillful in means, practices in accordance with the meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom, that is, constantly and continuously practices and abides in the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, which is non-different from the suchness of all phenomena, and therefore does not think that any phenomena have increase or decrease. Subhuti, the meaning of the inexpressible is that there is no increase and no decrease, and even the unique qualities of the Buddhas have no increase and no decrease. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should practice the Perfection of Wisdom in the manner of no increase and no decrease. In between these, the meaning of no increase and decrease in the meaning of the inexpressible is summarized and shown. Thus, all phenomena are self-

The nature of mind is empty, inexpressible, without increase or decrease. By practicing the Prajnaparamita in this way, one will attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus, it was taught and instructed to Subhuti (Rabjor). Question: "O Blessed One, does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has initially generated the mind attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment?" etc. Those who are inseparable from the Prajnaparamita and dedicate themselves with skillful means will attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. From the chapter of teachings, it is asked how one can attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment through skillful means. It is asked by what aspiration one can attain perfect Bodhi. However, it is for the sake of separately explaining the profound meaning of dependent origination to the retinue. The so-called initial generation of the mind refers to the initial generation of the Bodhicitta by ordinary beings. The so-called subsequent generation of the mind refers to the mind that attains perfect enlightenment after completely abandoning all obstacles with the Vajra-like Samadhi at the essence of Bodhicitta. This mind is free from faults. The so-called obstructed refers to the consciousness of form, etc., of ordinary beings, which is obstructed by walls, etc. The so-called imputation on non-existence refers to whatever becomes the object of focus in conventional truth, becomes the object of separate determination, and becomes the object of other-power. These are all empty by suchness, because they are imputed on non-existence. Non-existence is of two kinds, namely, imputed by these, as it is declared. The so-called unobstructed refers to those who are not obscured by walls, etc., which possess clairvoyance. The so-called becoming non-dual refers to the nature of emptiness in suchness. Because it arises universally without being born, it does not truly arise with a true nature. The so-called superior ones refers to
