That which is called "is," just as a rabbit's horn, since there is nothing at all, there is nothing to meditate on. Similarly, for the Perfection of Wisdom, since there is nothing at all in ultimate reality, there is nothing to meditate on. This is the meaning. World-Honored One, that which is called "Thus meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is meditating on non-apprehension," is like that which cannot be meditated on where there is no duality of the apprehended and the apprehender. Likewise, in the Perfection of Wisdom, since there is no entity of the apprehended and the apprehender, there is nothing to meditate on. This is what is being taught. World-Honored One, that which is called "Thus meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is meditating on complete meditation," since the Perfection of Wisdom has no entity in ultimate reality, meditating on it is making meditation non-existent. This is the meaning. In the Indian language, the word "Vibhavana" (梵文天城体:विभावना,梵文罗马拟音:vibhāvanā,汉语字面意思:complete meditation) can mean both "complete meditation" and "no meditation." In this context, it should be understood as "no meditation." The World-Honored One said: Subhuti, as you say, meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom, then what is meditating on complete meditation? This is to initiate the topic, explaining that all phenomena such as form have no entity in ultimate reality, that is, the teaching of no meditation. That which is called "What is meditating on complete meditation?" is saying to Subhuti that any entity such as form, whatever is meditated on is un-meditable. Please tell me, World-Honored One, that which is called "Thus meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is meditating on the complete meditation of form," meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is because of realizing that form has no entity in ultimate reality, therefore meditating on the un-meditable of form is meditating. This is what is being taught. Just as the explanation of form, so too, all phenomena from feeling, etc., up to omniscience should be applied in the same way. The World-Honored One said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, thus meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is meditating on the complete meditation of form, and so on, Subhuti, thus meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is omniscience.

From "cultivating, cultivating as it is," is the meaning spoken by Subhuti. In order to make the statement firm, that statement is repeated, and the Blessed One said, "It is true." Then, the Blessed One said to the venerable Subhuti, "Subhuti, does this Bodhisattva Mahasattva have no manifest attachment to this profound Prajnaparamita?" Subhuti, regarding this profound Prajnaparamita, the irreversible Bodhisattva Mahasattva should be completely examined, and so on. Thus, if the meaning of this profound Prajnaparamita is understood, that Bodhisattva who does not grasp at characteristics in all dharmas and does not cultivate anything, is he an irreversible Bodhisattva? Or is he not? It should be examined as stated. Regarding this profound Prajnaparamita, examine whether one views it as real, grasps at characteristics, and has manifest attachment. If there is manifest attachment, then he is not an irreversible Bodhisattva. Thus, if there is no manifest attachment, then it should be known that he is an irreversible Bodhisattva, this is what is to be shown. Just as the Prajnaparamita has said, in the same way, from the Dhyana Paramita and so on, up to all-knowingness, all pure dharmas should also be applied in this way. When that irreversible Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices this profound Prajnaparamita, does he not regard what is said by others and what is taught by others as essential? And so on, this is showing the method of examining whether one is an irreversible Bodhisattva through examining whether the Bodhisattva who practices Prajnaparamita relies on other conditions or not. Does he not regard what is said by others and what is taught by others as essential? This is examining whether one can be deceived by others or not. Does he not proceed by the faith of others? This is examining whether one relies on others and follows others.

The phrase "whether or not it has been robbed by a mind possessed by ignorance" to "whether or not it has been controlled by afflictions such as desire" is to examine whether or not one has been controlled by afflictions such as desire. From "whether or not one has been separated from the perfection of generosity" to "whether or not one has been separated from the perfection of wisdom, one should fully examine," is to examine whether or not one practices with the purity of the three circles when practicing the six perfections. The phrase "If that irreversible Bodhisattva Mahasattva" to "Having heard it, they hold it, recite it, understand it completely, and keep it in mind properly" means that having heard this profound Prajnaparamita, they are not afraid or terrified, their minds do not shrink back, but rather they generate increasingly strong faith, and practice it extensively through means such as holding and reciting it. Then, that Bodhisattva has been practicing this profound Prajnaparamita for a long time. If they possess these qualities, then one should know that they are an irreversible Bodhisattva. This is what is to be explained. The questioner asked: "Bhagavan, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva teaches this profound Prajnaparamita," to "How should we examine this profound Prajnaparamita?" refers to the fact that when teaching this profound Prajnaparamita in this way, one is not afraid of the profound meaning, but rather practices it more and more extensively. When realizing the ultimate sphere, how should we contemplate and examine this Prajnaparamita? This is the question that was asked. The Bhagavan replied: "Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should examine this profound Prajnaparamita with a mind that is inclined towards all-knowingness." This means that one does not grasp at the reality or characteristics of Prajnaparamita, but rather it is in accordance with the meaning of all-knowingness, and one examines it in a way that does not examine the meaning of Prajnaparamita. This is what is to be explained. The questioner asked: "Bhagavan, how can one incline towards all-knowingness?
