Thus, emptiness and the perfection of wisdom are both of one taste in emptiness, so there is no difference, as taught. Similarly, it should be applied up to all-knowingness, such as feeling. Why is that? Kausika, it is like this, all those dharmas are non-existent and unattainable. Since all those dharmas are non-existent and unattainable, form is also not the perfection of wisdom, etc., which means that form is also not the perfection of wisdom, and there is no perfection of wisdom apart from form, etc. The reason for teaching it that way is to explain the reason. Because all those dharmas, such as the imputed form, the suchness of form, the dharmata of form, and the perfection of wisdom, are non-existent and unattainable in the ultimate sense, form is also not the perfection of wisdom. There is no perfection of wisdom apart from form, etc., up to all-knowingness, repeating the words mentioned above. Among them, the meaning of "those dharmas are non-existent" is that the nature of those dharmas, such as form, is not established as existent in the ultimate sense. The meaning of "unattainable" is that it is not an object to be perceived by the six consciousnesses. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, said to the venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, the paramita of the bodhisattva mahasattvas is great, like this, the perfection of wisdom, etc., means that according to the method described above, the perfection of wisdom cannot be found anywhere in the ultimate sense, and it has become the object of any dharma, but in the conventional sense, by studying it, the sravakas and pratyekabuddhas of the three times, and the bodhisattvas, etc., will each obtain special fruits, so this perfection of wisdom is great, immeasurable, and infinite, thus showing the wonderful and excellent qualities, which means that those who study and constantly engage in it will constantly engage in it.

From "The fruit of the earth is obtained, the fruit of the earth is obtained! It will be obtained," up to "Manifestly and perfectly enlightened in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment! Manifestly and perfectly attain Buddhahood! Will manifestly and perfectly attain Buddhahood!" it is taught that if the noble Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas of the three times study this Perfection of Wisdom, they will obtain the merits of their respective special fruits. Subhūti said: Kauśika, it is so! It is so! From "It is so, it is so," up to "Manifestly and perfectly enlightened in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment! Will manifestly and perfectly attain Buddhahood!" it is for the sake of making the retinue believe the meaning and words spoken by Indra, Subhūti repeated, thereby showing that this Perfection of Wisdom is vast, complete, and boundless, and what is said is true. Kauśika, because form is vast, the pāramitā of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas is vast. Why is that? Kauśika, it is because, for example, the prior limit of form is not perceived, the posterior limit is not perceived, the middle is not perceived. From "Kauśika, therefore, the pāramitā of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas is vast. For example, this Perfection of Wisdom," it is showing the reason why the Perfection of Wisdom is vast: all phenomena from form, etc., up to omniscience, in ultimate reality, are not established as truly existent, because there is no true existence, therefore the prior limit, posterior limit, and middle are not perceived. Whatever phenomena are such that the limit and middle are not perceived, and the Perfection of Wisdom, the two, in ultimate reality, are of one taste in emptiness, and are not different, therefore form, etc., are not perceived in the three times, and are not completely cut off. Just as it is vast, the Perfection of Wisdom is also not perceived in the three times, therefore it is vast, this is what is to be shown. Kauśika, because form is immeasurable, the

Beginning with "This perfection is immeasurable." Kauśika, therefore, the perfection of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas is immeasurable. Thus is the Prajñāpāramitā. Up to this point, the reason for the immeasurability of the Prajñāpāramitā is explained. Because the dharmas, from form and so forth up to all-knowingness, are not established as truly existent in the ultimate sense, they cannot be measured, saying that their measure is only this much. Similarly, the Prajñāpāramitā is not different from these dharmas in the ultimate sense, therefore, taking the example of space, it is shown to be immeasurable. Kauśika, because form is infinite, this perfection of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas is infinite. Up to "All-knowingness is infinite, therefore it is infinite. This is the Prajñāpāramitā," the reason for the infinity of the Prajñāpāramitā is explained. Because the dharmas, from form and so forth up to all-knowingness, are not established as truly existent in the ultimate sense, they have neither the limit of arising nor the limit of ceasing. Because the two limits are not established, the middle is also not determinable. Similarly, the Prajñāpāramitā is not different from these dharmas in the ultimate sense, therefore it is infinite. Kauśika, furthermore, because the object of focus is infinite. This Prajñāpāramitā of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas is infinite. Such as this Prajñāpāramitā, etc., refers to the fact that focusing on all-knowingness is infinite, focusing on the realm of dharma is infinite, focusing on suchness is infinite, and because sentient beings are infinite, the Prajñāpāramitā is shown to be infinite. Indra said: Venerable Subhūti, in what way is it that because the object of focus is infinite, this perfection of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas is infinite? Such as this Prajñāpāramitā. This is because the object of focus is infinite, therefore the Prajñāpāramitā is infinite.
