Its nature becomes a companion or cause, or limb for realizing enlightenment, hence it is called a limb of enlightenment. That is, mindfulness, discrimination of dharma, diligence, joy, serenity, concentration, and equanimity are the seven limbs of perfect enlightenment. Among them, mindfulness is not forgetting the object of focus and having a clear mind. Diligence is having a joyful and diligent mind towards realizing the nature of the dharma realm, and not being lazy. Joy is experiencing the joy of dharma upon seeing the pure nature of the dharma realm, which was previously unseen and unexperienced, when attaining the first ground. Serenity is when the body and mind become very serene and capable of meditation when realizing the nature of the dharma realm and experiencing the joy of dharma in this way. Concentration is the mind abiding single-pointedly in the nature of the dharma realm. Equanimity is the mind being spontaneously accomplished in realizing the nature of the dharma realm without being overcome by opposing factors. These seven dharmas are the correct limbs for realizing the nature of enlightenment of the dharma realm, hence they are called the limbs of perfect enlightenment. Abiding in solitude, abiding in detachment from desire, abiding in cessation, and being accomplished by complete abandonment, as explained in the chapter on the bases of miraculous power. Subhuti, furthermore, the Great Vehicle of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is like the Noble Eightfold Path, etc., which shows that the Noble Eightfold Path is the Great Vehicle. From the stream-enterer of the Hearers up to the attainment of the first ground by a Bodhisattva, these noble ones cultivate these eight branches, such as right view, in order to abandon the subtle defilements to be abandoned by the path of cultivation and to attain the ground of liberation. By cultivating these, one can abandon subtle defilements and it is the cause or path for obtaining the fruit of liberation, hence it is called the Noble Eightfold Path. Among them, right view is abandoning worldly wrong views and observing all dharmas with the eye of wisdom.

That is, seeing the Dharmadhatu without any distortion. Right view is to truly understand and ascertain the Dharmadhatu itself without any distortion. Right speech means that because of understanding the Dharmadhatu, one does not utter false words or other wrong speech, and teaches the Dharma to others with words that do not contradict the nature of reality. Right action means that because one's discipline is pure, one does not engage in actions that should not be done. Right livelihood means being content with little desire and not making a living through deceit or other wrong means. Right effort means diligently abandoning the afflictions that should be abandoned through the path of meditation, and diligently cultivating their antidotes. Right mindfulness means that through the power of the path of meditation, one is not swayed by the two near afflictions of sinking and agitation, which should be abandoned, and one establishes mindfulness steadily. Right concentration means that one's mind is single-pointedly focused on the Dharmadhatu itself, without any conceptualization, and through this, one obtains qualities such as clairvoyance. Dwelling in solitude, dwelling in detachment from desire, dwelling in cessation, and being completely accomplished through complete abandonment are all as previously described. Subhuti, furthermore, the Mahayana of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is like this, such as the three samadhis, which indicates that the three doors of liberation are the Mahayana. The three doors of liberation are also called the three samadhis, that is, cultivating the three samadhis of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, one can be liberated from the obscurations of afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge, and become the door to entering the characteristic of liberation, Nirvana, therefore it is called the door of liberation. Among them, what is the samadhi of emptiness? That is, when one realizes that all phenomena are empty of their own nature, the mind abides in this, this is the door of liberation of emptiness. This refers to being free from the imputed characteristics grasped by ordinary beings, the perfectly established characteristic is inexpressible, and when one realizes and cultivates the nature of emptiness, the mind becomes one-pointed, which is called the samadhi of emptiness.
