Also, there is no heaven, as well as equanimity, as well as mindfulness, as well as one-pointedness of mind, these four. Furthermore, son of Sharadvati, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's Mahayana is to cultivate the four mindfulnesses in all aspects, and so on, up to cultivating all-knowingness in all aspects. Son of Sharadvati, this is the Mahayana of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, from the four mindfulnesses to all-knowingness, to cultivate all the pure dharmas spoken of by name in all aspects is the Mahayana, and it is truly entering the Mahayana, this is the third. To cultivate in all aspects means to truly understand the self and common characteristics of the dharmas such as the four mindfulnesses in the conventional sense, and in the ultimate sense, not to perceive them as real. Furthermore, son of Sharadvati, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva enters into the samadhi of loving-kindness, and thinks: I shall protect all sentient beings. Thus abiding in it, up to this is the Prajnaparamita of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Son of Sharadvati, this is the Mahayana of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. In between, it is to emphasize the cultivation of the four immeasurables, and at the same time of cultivation, to perfectly accomplish the six paramitas is the Mahayana, and it is truly entering the Mahayana, this is the fourth. Among them, to enter into the samadhi of loving-kindness, and so on, up to this is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's practice of the Paramita of giving in the immeasurable, is to emphasize the cultivation of the immeasurable, and at the same time of cultivation, to declare the perfect accomplishment of the Paramita of giving. To protect all sentient beings, thus abiding in it, is to protect sentient beings from the fear of enemies, etc., and to give fearlessness because of loving-kindness. To have compassion for all sentient beings, and to practice loving-kindness, is to

Through the power of compassion, protecting from sickness and death, bestowing fearlessness. Thinking of sentient beings, "I shall liberate them myself," this is called, through the power of joy, liberating from famine and poverty of the necessities of life, and bestowing fearlessness. To be greatly devoted to enduring the defilements of sentient beings, this means that even though the afflictions of sentient beings, such as hatred, cause harm to oneself, one accepts it with the power of equanimity, enduring and not harming in return, thus bestowing fearlessness. Here, although the perfection of generosity is generally mentioned, it actually refers to bestowing fearlessness. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, through meditation and the immeasurables, etc., from "in all aspects" up to "the perfection of discipline is completely uncorrupted," it indicates that by valuing the immeasurables and practicing them, the perfection of discipline is completely accomplished. That is, not degenerating from the intention to attain omniscience, and not seeking to attain the level of a Hearer or Solitary Realizer, is what it means for the perfection of discipline to be completely uncorrupted. The aspects, nature, and characteristics of the four immeasurables, such as vastness and extreme expansiveness, have been explained before. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices meditation, the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions without mixing them, and does not generate the desire for the two levels, the level of a Hearer or a Solitary Realizer, but rather aspires to and rejoices in omniscience, this is the perfection of patience in the practice of the immeasurables by a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This means that by valuing the four immeasurables and practicing them, the perfection of patience is completely accomplished. That is, not being afraid of the profound unborn Dharma, and having obtained patience with the unproduced Dharma, one does not generate the desire for the levels of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, but rather aspires to and rejoices in omniscience, this is the perfection of patience, as has been shown. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, omniscience

With a mind endowed with mindfulness, completely abandoning non-virtuous dharmas, and not abandoning diligence in order to accomplish perfect virtuous dharmas, this conduct is the diligence perfection practiced by Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. This means that by diligently cultivating the four immeasurables, one simultaneously accomplishes the complete perfection of diligence. From generating the mind of omniscience, not being discouraged in the interim, abandoning dharmas that are unfavorable, and not abandoning diligence in cultivating favorable dharmas, this is the perfection of diligence, as it is taught. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva meditates, immeasurably, and also abides in the formless attainments, from "this is the meditation perfection practiced by Bodhisattva Mahasattvas," it means that by diligently cultivating the four immeasurables, one simultaneously accomplishes the complete perfection of meditation. Not being reborn due to meditation, the immeasurables, and the formless attainments, not enjoying and clinging to the bliss of meditation and so forth, not being controlled by meditation and so forth, and not allowing the mind to be distracted from remembering the mind of omniscience, this is the perfection of meditation, as it is taught. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva has the mindfulness endowed with the mind of omniscience, from "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, this is the Great Vehicle of Bodhisattva Mahasattvas," it means that by diligently cultivating the four immeasurables, one simultaneously accomplishes the complete perfection of wisdom. With the power of wisdom, regarding meditation and so forth as the way of the Hearers' Vehicle, contemplating them as impermanent, suffering, selfless, peaceful, empty, signless, and wishless, and also for Hearers and Solitary Buddhas
