There are three types of conjunctions and forms. Dependent origination is to be taken as a conjunction. Thus, wishing to abandon all imprints, all conjunctions, and all afflictions, one should strive in the Perfection of Wisdom. Combined with "Bodhisattvas wishing to enter the flawless state," etc., it shows the great nature of the qualities of Bodhisattvas. Among them, the qualities of Bodhisattvas are also shown in four aspects: impure qualities, pure qualities, qualities of the ground of individually and correctly knowing, and qualities of the ground of abiding in the ultimate. Among them, from the first ground to the seventh ground, because of the presence of effort and exertion, they are impure. On the eighth ground, the manifestation of the Buddha's body and the comprehension of Suchness, etc., are the pure qualities of the ground. On the ninth ground, knowing the particles of the finest dust, etc., are the qualities of the ground of individually and correctly knowing. On the tenth ground, wishing to obtain the qualities of the Buddhas of the past, future, and thus appeared Buddhas, the Bhagavat, etc., are the qualities of the ground of abiding in the ultimate. Among them, "Bodhisattvas wishing to enter the flawless state" refers to turning away from the grounds of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, which is called the flawless state of Bodhisattvas. "Wishing to know the grounds of Hearers and Solitary Realizers" means that because of the superiority of qualities, after knowing the grounds of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, one wishes to transcend those grounds, which is a summary term. Bodhisattvas who have entered the wisdom of the grounds surpass Hearers and Solitary Realizers with four qualities. What are the four? The difference in faculties, the difference in practice, the difference in wisdom, and the difference in results. Among them, Hearers are naturally dull in faculties, Solitary Realizers are intermediate in faculties, and Bodhisattvas are sharp in faculties. This is the difference in faculties. Hearers and Solitary Realizers are focused on their own benefit, only practicing their own benefit, and only making benefiting themselves the ultimate. Bodhisattvas...

Taking on the benefit of both oneself and others, accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, and ultimately perfecting the benefit of oneself and others, this is the distinction of practice. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas realize the impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness of all dharmas. Bodhisattvas, because they engage in benefiting themselves and others, are skilled in all fields of knowledge, accomplish various benefits for sentient beings, and then realize the characteristic of all dharmas as being without object of focus. This is the distinction of wisdom. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas attain the complete purification of the obscurations of affliction and achieve nirvana without remainder. Bodhisattvas, having abandoned both the obscurations of affliction and the obscurations of knowledge, accomplish non-abiding nirvana, and until the end of samsara, they solely perform the benefit of sentient beings. This is the distinction of result. The phrase "wanting to abide in the irreversible stage" refers to generating the mind of enlightenment. Later, turning away from the mind of enlightenment occurs due to four causes: not possessing the lineage of a Bodhisattva, being completely controlled by evil friends, having little compassion, or fearing the suffering of samsara because it is extremely long and unbearable, one might turn away from the mind of enlightenment. However, a Bodhisattva who fully possesses these qualities does not have these four causes. Therefore, the stage of complete joy and so forth are called the irreversible stage. The phrase "wanting to abide in the six superknowledges" refers to the six superknowledges, which are the five superknowledges mentioned earlier, plus the knowledge of the exhaustion of defilements. The phrase "wanting to know the various fluctuations of the minds and behaviors of all sentient beings" refers to the fact that Bodhisattvas take on the benefit of sentient beings, and thus know exactly what sentient beings are thinking in their minds, what behaviors they have faith in, and so on. Because it is necessary to accomplish their benefit, it is said in this way. The phrase "wanting to overwhelm the wisdom of all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas" refers to the wisdom of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, which is only the selflessness of the person.
