There is no perception in it, but it abides only in the Dharma. Abiding in that perception of merely Dharma, one endures without minding the harm done by others. What is the patience of experiencing suffering? Here, the Bodhisattva should train in this way: When I previously sought desirable enjoyments, for the sake of those desires that became the cause of suffering, I experienced and underwent many kinds of suffering, such as plowing fields, doing business, and governing kingdoms. Due to ignorance, I experienced them meaninglessly. If it is reasonable to undergo suffering greater than the countless sufferings of the past in order to practice virtue that will lead to happiness, then what need is there to mention lesser sufferings? One should properly contemplate in this way. The Bodhisattva's patience of enduring all suffering in order to attain enlightenment. What is the patience of निश्चित(梵文天城体:निश्चित,梵文罗马拟音:niścita, meaning: certain)faith in the Dharma? Here, the Bodhisattva, at the cost of correctly understanding and accepting the Dharma, develops great faith through the virtues of the Three Jewels, the meaning of reality, the great power of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, cause, effect, the meaning to be attained, the means by which I attain it, and the field of activity to be known, having long been accustomed to them, and having correctly accomplished perfectly pure wisdom. What is the patience of difficult deeds? There are three aspects to it: Here, the Bodhisattva endures the harm done by inferior and dangerous beings; endures oneself becoming a lord; and endures the great harm done by beings of extremely low lineage and birth. What is the patience that is the gateway to all? There are also four aspects to it: Here, the Bodhisattva endures the harm done by friends, non-friends, and ordinary people; and endures the harm done by those who are inferior, equal, and superior to oneself among these three. What is the patience of a great person? That should be understood as fivefold: Here, the Bodhisattva from the beginning regards patience as beneficial.

Furthermore, a person who possesses patience will not have many enemies in the future, will not have many who create discord, will become happy and content, and will pass away without regret, with the body decaying. After death, they will be born among the gods in the heavenly realms. Therefore, seeing the benefits of patience in this way, I myself will be patient, and I will also encourage others to be patient, proclaim the virtues of patience, and feel joy in my heart when I see someone who possesses patience. So, what is the patience that a Bodhisattva has in all circumstances? There are thirteen aspects: A Bodhisattva is patient because they fear experiencing the undesirable results that ripen from impatience; being compassionate towards sentient beings; with loving patience; because they greatly desire unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, they are patient in order to perfect the perfection of patience; because those who have renounced are right to be patient, they are patient in order to make a vow to be patient; having cultivated patience in the past, they are naturally patient because it will make their lineage complete; having realized that all phenomena are without self, and understanding that they are inexpressible and merely the nature of reality, they have patience with certainty about the Dharma; enduring all harm; being patient with everything; being patient in all places, whether in solitude or among many people; being patient at all times, in the morning, at noon, in the afternoon, during the day, at night, in the past, in the future, in the present, when sick, when not sick, when flourishing, and when declining; being patient without mental fabrication of the body; being patient with purification without tolerating unpleasant words; being patient with the mind without being angry and without evil thoughts, there are thirteen in total. So, what is the patience with wanting what is lacking? There are also four aspects: being patient with the fault of begging unskillfully from suffering sentient beings; being patient with striving to free suffering sentient beings from suffering; being patient with striving to teach the Dharma to sentient beings who seek the Dharma and follow the teachings; striving to help sentient beings who are busy and
