In terms of designation, saying "exists" is incidental, referring to the six sense faculties. In terms of inherent nature, the aggregates and so on are designated as persons, and the rest should also be understood. Thus, these nine are the conceptualizations of designating the aggregates and so on as persons. Illusion itself, from form to consciousness, is the conceptualization of designating the aggregates. Illusion itself, from the eye to the dharma, is the conceptualization of designating the sense bases. Illusion itself, from the eye and form, consciousness, to illusion itself, from the mind and dharma, and the consciousness of the mind, from here to illusion itself, the space element, illusion itself, the consciousness element, this is the conceptualization of the elements. Illusion itself is dependent origination, illusion itself is ignorance, to illusion itself is old age and death, this is the conceptualization of designating dependent origination. Illusion itself is the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, this is the conceptualization of designating purification. Illusion itself is emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, this is the conceptualization on the path of seeing. Illusion itself is meditation and the samadhi of the formless realms, this is the conceptualization on the path of cultivation. Illusion itself is that all is empty, this is the conceptualization of designating on the superior path. Illusion itself is the ten powers and so on up to enlightenment, this is the conceptualization of designating on the path of no more learning. These nine are weakened by the excellence of the Dharma, but are not abandoned, because here one possesses these, therefore it is the abandonment of the nine conceptualizations of the previous practitioner. After that, one abides in the uninterrupted samadhi. Because obstacles cannot obstruct, it is uninterrupted. After that uninterrupted samadhi, it is suitable for the path of seeing, this is the second explanation of the nine conceptualizations of what is grasped. First, the superior conceptualizations of complete grasping are briefly explained, and the first extensive explanation from the lineage is the perfection of the Mahayana lineage.

These are considered for the sake of establishing each individually, and here it is spoken of in that regard, as it says in the treatise: 'The mind not being timid, etc., shows the absence of inherent existence, etc., its unfavorable aspects are abandoned, and in all circumstances, it is completely upheld.' That is to say, by what is truly grasped and placed within the heart and guided, truly and completely upholding, in all circumstances, there are four aspects: skillful means, spiritual friends, and their respective abandonment of unfavorable aspects. What is said in the context of spiritual friends is, 'Will you not be afraid?' and so on. For example, when a magical being appears, being startled is being frightened and trembling, fear is having fear, everywhere being afraid is being afraid everywhere, that is, the continuum of that itself has fear everywhere. The antidote to that is not being timid, that is, not being timid everywhere, and not being discouraged, that is, the mind not being timid, etc., where is that explained? That is the meaning of skillful means. Among them, if all phenomena are definitely shown to be without inherent existence, and one practices virtuous root dharmas with non-objective yoga, those who dedicate these truly to perfect enlightenment, that is their skillful means. If, conversely, one is not skillful in means, then the blessings of demons will occur, that is, the faults of demons in the actions of the bodies of bodhisattvas, etc. For example, it is hindering the conduct of enlightenment, and one should realize it. This, I have told you everything. The actions of demons are when demons themselves transform into the forms of Buddhas, etc., and some people show the wrong path with this. These are to be realized as those who differentiate the conduct of enlightenment. In meaning, whoever differentiates these perfections, and whoever does not show this action of demons, that is an evil friend, one should understand in meaning. These are summaries. 'Having donned the great armor,' this verse means that here also the practice of armor is summarized, and this is spoken of in terms of the basis to be practiced, as it says in the treatise: 'Of realization.'
