First, the time of all-knowing. First, the time of all-knowing. In Sanskrit: Arya Ashta Sahasrika Prajna Paramita Marma Kaumudi Nama. In Tibetan: The commentary on the Holy Eight Thousand Verses of Prajna Paramita, called "Moonlight of Essential Points." I prostrate to the Bhagavan Mipham Gonpo! That which, the light overcomes the darkness of the heart, the five aggregates of non-elaboration become one. That which, when it arises, the turbidity of mental thoughts is cleared away, and enjoys the earth. That which, in order to generate the bliss of perfect enlightenment for beings, emanates an inconceivable body. Prajna Paramita, the destroyer who wanders in existence, I respectfully prostrate. Destroying the defilements of the mind and destroying evil views. Completely uprooting the branches of the defilements of birth. The great supreme non-conceptual complete enlightenment, the two inseparable path friends. Whose rays show like rain moistened with compassion. That which, the holy Mipham's treatise, is not satisfied by the doctrine of separation. Because most beings have wandered for a long time on the wrong path outward from the essence of the Mother. Therefore, seized by the stream pervaded by inner darkness, touching the heart of the treatise. I, who possess the treasure of the nectar of well-spoken practice, will spread the moonlight that clarifies its essential points. Here, certainly, the Bhagavan, with countless immeasurable kalpas, practiced various Bodhisattva practices, practiced each other, and those who meditated on the Prajna Paramita, completely cut off all the nets of discrimination, the continuity of birth, and in all limitless directions, the sentient beings of the three realms, countless beings, seeing each of their minds in an instant, with great compassion, realized as it should be, the Bhagavan, wishing sentient beings to realize and teach the Dharma, as it is, the collector collected, namely: Thus I have heard, etc., up to the praise, that is, here, etc., and the Bhagavan said, etc., is not the collector's own creation.

It is explained as the command of the Blessed One. As stated in the Sutra of Collecting the True Dharma: "After 'Thus I have heard,' the Dharma should be collected." Likewise, it explains with separation and order, and so on. The collector here is the great Bodhisattva residing in the Willow Grove, the lord of ten powers, Vajrapani. Moreover, it is said in the Sutra of Revealing the Secret of the Tathagata that after empowering to protect the Rupakaya and Dharmakaya of the Tathagatas of the Good Kalpa, he follows after them, and it is entrusted separately as stated in the Vajrapani Empowerment Sutra. Whatever is entrusted to the venerable Ananda is for the sake of the Shravakas also acting in the world, not for the purpose of collecting the Dharma. Here, the Blessed One demonstrates complete Nirvana, and the venerable Vajrapani, wishing to collect the Prajnaparamita in order to take hold of all the worlds, said to the assembly of Bodhisattvas and great Bodhisattvas, including the venerable Maitreya, "Thus," and so on. Reciting exactly what was heard from the teacher, and likewise hearing from others, is called the collector. After the collection, abiding at that time, it is extremely profound and difficult to realize, and impossible to realize, so with compassion, for the sake of realizing that meaning, the venerable Maitreya clarifies it with the treatise made with the words of the Ornament of Clear Realization, not made by the venerable Asanga, made later, which is the mistake of Simhabhadra and others, not explaining what was done earlier, which is the view of others. Therefore, the Blessed One wishes to separately explain the Prajnaparamita, because he is the supreme teacher among all teachers, because offering prostrations with joy has great meaning, and because the precious Sutra Pitaka to be explained should be spoken, so first offering prostrations to him: the one who leads the Shravakas seeking peace to approach Nirvana with omniscience, and the one who benefits beings.

Whoever accomplishes the world's purposes through the wisdom of the motherly path? To the mother of the Buddhas, who, being truly endowed, enables the Able Ones to proclaim all these diverse aspects, together with the assembly of Hearers and Bodhisattvas, I pay homage. What is Nirvana, which is close to peace, namely, cessation? It also includes Hearers and Solitary Realizers who seek liberation, because their vehicle is smaller, and because it is shown in a sequential manner. Benefiting beings is the activity of Bodhisattvas. The term "these diverse aspects" refers to the Dharma of all aspects of the Able One. By what endowment are all these aspects proclaimed? This clarifies that the nature of omniscience is the Perfection of Wisdom. The Perfection of Wisdom has three aspects: firstly, the disciples and Pratyekabuddhas who understand the five aggregates as impermanent; secondly, the path of those disciples and Pratyekabuddhas; thirdly, the Bodhisattvas who know the aspects of the Bodhisattva path; and fourthly, the omniscience that knows the aspects realized by them, which is the realm of the Buddhas, namely, their Perfection of Wisdom. The term "of the Buddhas" means arising, and it is a single word. She is the mother of the Buddhas surrounded by the assembly of Hearers and Bodhisattvas, and thus one obtains the great benefit as previously described. Having obtained that, I generate and increase the nature of the uncontaminated five aggregates. Therefore, one should understand it as the holder of the object of focus. Thus, the eight Perfections of Wisdom, which include the other five realizations gathered by the three omniscient ones, are also called the five, referring to the distinction between small, medium, and great realizers. Having paid homage through the gateway of the three omniscient ones, in order to explain the limbs that lead others to enter, etc., it is said: The path of omniscience, the Teacher explains here, the intelligent will see, it is not experienced by others. Possessing the nature of the ten practices of Dharma, placing the meaning of the Sutra in mindfulness, one will easily realize it.
