As an intermediary. Because only by the cause of being certain that its own nature does not appear, the object of its emptiness is established. Similarly, the object of inferential knowledge, although it is a common object of superimposition, is also considered a valid object because it focuses on the way things are. Although there is no nature of it, there is no contradiction that it does not enter into its own nature because it is that nature. Because all dharmas are established as without nature by the nature of the general, the nature of the general is the nature of one's own mind that has entered into it. Like the mind that is destroyed in an instant by the reason of existence. So, only forms and so on that are empty of the aspect of superimposition are spoken of by the name of no self-nature. Moreover, since the self-nature of forms and so on is manifest, the absence of self-nature in what has become its self-nature is also focused on like a place devoid of a manifest vase. Because it is devoid of the vase that has become its self-nature, a child does not focus on it. Here too, since not focusing on a characteristic that can be focused on in this way by manifestation is permissible as a term of non-existence, if it is said that the absence of absence is harmed by inference? It is not so. Things are said to be without self-nature only when they are devoid of the aspect of superimposition. Although the self-nature of things is grasped and held like an instant, because of delusion, the aspect of birth and so on, which is not a superimposition, is the nature of reversal. Therefore, those who see this shore will not change. There is no manifestation that is definitely unreasonable here, and there is no harm from manifestation. That which produces certainty is in the terms made manifest, in the path of seeing and so on. Since what is grasped in this way is also not permissible as a term, it is examined without grasping. Here, what has not become an object of focus exists, so there is no harm of inference to it. By distinguishing with "ultimate," if one does not examine, there is no harm of trusting without examining the certainty of pleasant things. Therefore, the Blessed One, having thought about all this, spoke.

That is, that which is produced by causes is unborn. Its birth is not of its own nature. That which depends on causes is said to be empty. Whoever knows emptiness is mindful. Thus it is. Likewise, inference that accords with the realization of suchness, with the nature of thought or the nature of meditation, the wisdom that thoroughly distinguishes as it is, obtains the result of burning the firewood of all phenomena. That is, in all things, in this way, by burning the firewood of phenomena that are fabricated by it, the burning of the distinction of pacification, by the supreme path of nirvana of the characteristic of the cessation of examination. Thus, as it is said in the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way: "The exhaustion of grasping at the supreme of things and non-things is called nirvana." Thus, the stream of transcendental wisdom without discrimination, without end, only remains as long as space exists. From the supreme Dharma, the nature of perversion also enters into inference through faith and so on, and after obtaining the task of direct perception, although it is blocked by the inference of understanding all aspects of the realm of phenomena, it is not the pacification of transcendental wisdom. Like fine gold that is exhausted when firewood is exhausted by fire, so it is. That itself says: "It is completely pacified by being without an object." That is, it means a mind with discrimination. Apart from the distinctions of the aspects of examination and so on, there is also no means of realizing suchness. Here, too, all the terms such as that which is to be proven and that which proves are all conventional truths. What is conventional truth? It is the deluded mind that fabricates with a reversed aspect on things that are without inherent existence. Conventional truth is so called because it completely obscures and covers suchness here. That fabricated thing is called conventional truth, or it is conventional truth because it cannot be examined. That is, the inference that enters into focusing on the non-perverted suchness, the wisdom born of thought born of that power, and the direct perception born of meditation, realize suchness.
