If it is said that the reason becomes uncertain, it is not so. Because ultimate direct perception cannot be established in any way. What is said to be "where it appears to be true" will become where the thing to be proven is attributed with imputation and so on. To doubt the self-evident blue and other phenomena because they are hidden is something even a child cannot say. Although one knows and sees from birth, but because one does not know where it appears, it is said to "abide," which is the tenet of the Mind-Only school. If one doubts that reason, then there will be no fear of reversal. Then, logically, whatever harms the arising of things themselves will also harm conventionally. If it is said that that reason is not established, it is not so. Just like the arising of external causes and so on, here all arising depends on the difference of place, time, and cause, and you should also distinguish it in the conventional. From beginningless time, causes and conditions that are in accordance with each other arise mutually. So, how can one definitely distinguish them? If one distinguishes different times at the same time, then there will be no contradiction. Faults such as non-momentariness will not fall on it, because there will be no contradiction between sound and meaning. The nature of phenomena such as illusions and dreams will not be mixed with momentary and non-momentary phenomena. Elsewhere, it is said that conditioned phenomena are momentary, which is to make the negligent have universal trust in conditioned phenomena, and gradually enter the suchness of selflessness. If there is no self-nature ultimately, but things

Since the ability is certain, why would you definitely not want to establish it in that way? If we speak from the nature of cognition, then for someone with cataracts, it is said that hairs, etc., are not true. Since it has already been said like this, then it is not in the nature of objects other than cognition and the cognizable. Merely the appearance of hairs, etc., are widely known as valid cognitions in the world, but in reality, they do not exist. Therefore, whatever is not born in the ultimate sense is also not born in the conventional sense, like the son of a barren woman, etc. If one uses "a real object is not born in the ultimate sense" as a reason that would lead to a fallacy, then using grasping at illusions, etc., as a reason would become uncertain, because there is no valid cognition for the reverse either, so one would doubt the opposite. If it does not exist in the ultimate sense, then it also does not exist in the conventional sense, and thus the conventional truth would disappear. In any case, even in the conventional sense, the son of a barren woman, etc., will not arise, and this is because of being separated from those aggregates, not because of being separated from the ultimate nature. So, how can there be no ability to completely eliminate reasons that are not established, etc.? Because not all things exist forever, negating the assumed nature by means of a negative statement, which is the same as negating the nature that has been examined by means of a negative statement, is meaningless in proving something that has already been established, so it is difficult to abandon. This is not because valid cognition causes harm, but because valid cognition harms the assumed nature. Self-cognizing direct perception harms the nature of things that are fully established as existing in the ultimate sense, that is to say, on the assumed nature, because it is assumed in other ways by reason and has the nature of grasper and grasped, it is not established through cognition, but through proof. Just as a magician, for the objects of illusory men and women, etc., in cognition, because they themselves do not possess that nature, one becomes attached to their form, but because there is no attachment, in the same way that one establishes distinctions on that object as the cause of generating certainty in focusing on emptiness, so too, for others who possess direct perception and realization, the cause of jointly arising illusions arises.
